Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

I don't think that i have seen anything confirming that Lambiel did the FD, but I suspect he did........unless he was working with them on specific elements.

It could be elements or a section of choreography - when he worked with the Shibutanis last season he only did one section of their FD. But I hope it's more, just because I really like his choreographies. And I'd definitely like to see him develop their spins for the start of the new quadrennium!

And maybe the fact that they explicitly said Dean did the RD, but didn't say anything specific about Stephane suggests it wasn't the full program he did. Or maybe they just didn't want to announce it yet. We'll see. And working with Stephane on spins would be great of course.

Would it be possible for Guillaume to do a part of the choreography ? He did a program for Morgan/Cipres and for Romain Ponsart... I have no idea if it's harder choreograph for oneself than for others ??

To be honest, I think Guillaume has been choreographing them in part for years.

Well, i was painting with a bit of a broad brush - there are more themes to the tango than just jealousy, because there are so many sub-genres - but it's a common one. And it's not just the Tango de Roxane, thank goodness, because if I have to hear that abomination too many more times my ears will start to bleed (I may be an Australian, but I am not a Moulin Rouge fan, Baz Luhrmann can apologise for inflicting it on me any time). One of the most famous tangos in the world is literally called 'Jealousy', after all.

Actually, if it suits the timing requirements of the Tango Romantica, I wouldn't mind at least one team going full-on traditional and skating to the Jealousy Tango. It would be a respite from the overload of Piazzolla that we already know is going to be inflicted on us. The number of singles skaters who seem to have decided that this is a good year to do a tango is ridiculous!

There's a tango called Carnaval de mi Barrio, but that doesn't mean tango is about carnival. 90% of tango lyrics are about sadness, lost loves, despair, suffering. Anyway, carry on.

i'm dying to see the tango romantica and know their musics. Gabby Guillaume pretties, why you gotta be so cruel and make me wait like that.

Has Lambiel done choreo for a pair or dance team before? I haven't seen much of his choreographic work. Curious to find out if he really did the program for GG. But I also think maybe it's like the MS situation--Lambiel for fresh input but MFD ties the whole thing together.

He did the section of the Shibutanis' FD last season that was set to the 'Flight from the City' music, IIRC.

What Harriet wrote, and he also did Shibutani's 2016/2017 exhibition program - https://youtu.be/BBkWY6ROHpA. Before that he did both the SD and FD for German ice dancers Zhiganshina/Gazsi for their last competitive (2014/2015) season - https://youtu.be/G1EClAaB6V0 (SD), https://youtu.be/Y651m_q7PtU (FD). Truthfully, those were not very well received, especially the FD as the music cuts were just crazy 😁. But, from what I understand, he basically just helps with movements/choreo elements, but technical elements and maybe even some transitions are mostly done by the team's regular choreographers/coaches. That's because he does not have that much knowledge about ice dancing, the requirements etc. His input is much larger with single skaters he is choreographing for.

Hmmmmm I retain almost no memory of their FD last season...

Anyway, I hope G/G's creative juices are flowing after rest and vacations.

Thanks for the links!
There hasn't been much news lately. When will the top teams in Gadbois start training again?

Apologies if this has already been posted but I`ve only just seen it. Wow! Can`t wait to see their new programmes.

This new-ish account in pretty excellent. They look to be in good shape. This doesn't look like a Tango starting position. So maybe an exhibition program or part of the Free Dance? It's too short and too much of a tease.

Well, the account owner just replied to me obliquely that "it's not time for exhibitions". So a sultry Free Dance in the making? Intriguing...
