I'm curious what in particular fellow GSers can't wait to see in the new season. (Sorry if there already is a thread for this; I couldn't find one)

Here's my personal list, in no particular order:
- upcoming program reveals. I can't wait to see what Hanyu, Kolyada, Papadakis/Cizeron, Gilles/Poirier, Gold and others have chosen for this season. And Fernandez, I wonder what he chooses for his last competitive season.
- if Yuzuru Hanyu manages to land a 4A. I'm torn on this though, I don't want an injury to happen...
- comeback announcements of skaters who decide to stick around for a little longer (Ashley Wagner? Mirai Nagasu? Marchei and Hotarek? Cappellini and Lanotte, pretty plase?)
- who, if anyone, succeeds Cappellini/Lanotte and Marchei/Hotarek as masters of fun galas. Maybe Hawayek/Baker since their last gala was awesome?
- Xiangning Li competing in two categories on the GP circuit. Fingers crossed for her, if she does manage it it'll be a first I think?
- juniors debuting on the senior GP. It will be my first time seeing them, and I'm looking forward to watching Eun Soo Lim, Rika Kihira, the young Russian pairs and others for the first time.
- all new names on the GP circuit. Finally I can see them on the TV screen in good resolution, hopefully.
- Sota Yamamoto's programs performed in front of the home crowd (I so hope he's chosen for NHK!) on a big stage
- the battle for the third Worlds spot among the Japanese men (Tomono or Takahashi or Tanaka?), not to mention the Japanese ladies (too many to name). It's going to be epic.
- the GP crowd in Finland
- how Evgenia Medvedeva and Jason Brown do under Orser
- a comparison of the coaching change progress in the case of Scimeca-Knierim/Knierim vs Tarasova/Morozov at SA, and Medvedeva vs Tursynbaeva at SC
- who becomes dominant among the Canadian men and dance couples: will Gilles/Poirier catch up with Weaver/Poje? And who becomes the #1 man, Nguyen, Messing, Reynolds, or someone new?
- comeback skaters: Daisuke Takahashi and Gracie Gold. Fingers crossed!
- with so many splits, retirements and absences in the first part of the season, the entire Pairs field. Who rises to the occassion and advances to the GP Final?
- who becomes the new US #1 in ice dance. Hubbell/Donohue or Chock/Bates?
- programs performed to little used music. I'm grateful to all skaters who have chosen such music this season. Fingers especially crossed for Sergei Voronov's free because of Denis' choreo.
- who of the recently retired skaters starts coaching full-time. I know about Aliona Savchenko, and Meagan Duhamel seems to have passed a tech specialist course(?) - now, who else?
- the ladies' 3A. Fingers especially crossed for Elizaveta Tuktamysheva who is now the veteran among the 3A ladies.
- who of the European skaters can challenge the Russian dominance at European Championships in ladies and men. With Fernandez retiring, and I'm not sure about Kostner's plans, I'm really looking forward to seeing new European talents step up.

Gracie's comeback -wishing her well from all my heart - you go girl!!!

Since it seems that most skaters from the last 4 years those who are considered experienced and those who rose from the junior ranks the last couple years are all staying around for the next four years (speaking solely about the men's and ladies categories), i want to see how they all adjust and if there is a true changing of the guard, who will be the most dominant or not. But honestly I wish them all great success!!

There‘s so much I‘m excited about!

-Evgenia‘s new programs and generally how she does under Orser
-Alina‘s Carmen and whether she‘ll be able to continue to be on top, how she deals with puberty effects, whether she‘ll get her World title or not
-Wakaba Higuchi! Just because. Everything about her. Also Kaori Sakamoto. I fell in love with her Amelie program last year.
-Yuzu‘s new programs!
-Jason Brown. Did he improve under Orser?
-Tursynbaeva under Eteri
-In the junior ranks: Will anybody be able to challenge Alexandra Trusova for number #1?
-Also in junior: Alena Kostornaya‘s 3A and Anna Shcherbakova‘s quad lutz
-How Polina Tsurskaya, Elena Radionova and Anna Pogorilaya will fare. Also: Liza Tuktamysheva‘s 3A. Will she make a glorious comeback with it like in the season after the last Olympics?

And I’m sure I’ve forgotten a ton of stuff I‘m excited about.

I'm looking forward to seeing Evgenia's programs under TCC's guidance.
I feel like if Evgenia succeeds this season, we could see more Russian ladies going abroad for coaching and choreography.
I am also looking forward to seeing what kind of cringe-worthy choreographed programs with poorly cut music Eteri's camp comes up with.

- Trankov in the K&C as a coach + programs for T/M that aren't trashy
- Evgenia skating David Wilson programs
- Gracie Gold making a potential comeback
- Bradie's artistic development
- everything Sui/Han and Papadakis/Cizeron
- Aliona in the K&C as a coach
- keeping fingers crossed for a US lady to make a splash on the JGP

- Evgenia’s programs. Her past programs had basically the same layout with the same transitions, I want to see her out of the comfort zone.
- Alina’s Carmen. I have already went through the denial stage, now I'm just curious.
- How Nathan will manage skating and college at the same time.
- Papadakis/Cizeron new programs and if they’ll get WRs in every competition.
- Gracie’s comeback.
- Lil Bet under Eteri.
- Polina under Buyanova.
- Jason under Orser.
- Eunsoo and Marin under Raf.
- And whatever Junhwan is doing.

- Wakaba Higuchi! I really hope she smashes it this year and can't wait to see her in person at SCI.
- Keegan Messing! He's really pushing his technical content and he was already doing so well last year with only the 4T. Now that he's got the 4Lz I'm really hoping for him to make the GPF.
- Tuktamysheva! 3A queen, I also can't wait to see her in person and I really hope she storms onto the scene once more, hopefully with a program which really plays up her strengths,
- Medvedeva and Brown; will they improve? Will they regress?
- Pairs! The field is completely open for lots of new teams, I'm excited to see who will challenge the podium.
- Daisuke and Gracie; I really hope they both have one magical performance where everything clicks and the comeback feels totally worthwhile.
- Gilles/Poirier; I want them to storm onto the dance scene and take the podium so badly. They're such unique choreographers.
- The Russian Juniors! Gosh they're so exciting, I can't wait to see their highlights this year. I especially hope that Tarakanova punches it and does really well but also Trusova impresses me so much, I can't wait for Kostornaia and Scherbakova to make magic.
- Whatever this season's surprises will be!

ETA:
- Junhwha! The battle amongst the Japanese Ladies! Amongst the Japanese men!

- NOT losing any skater/coach/choreographer

- NOT seeing any injuries

- seeing ONLY tears of joy or from being moved by programs

- being sad ONLY by depth of competition, great performances and having too much greatness to process

- seeing skaters surprise themselves and pushing their skating to the new heights

- still enjoying watching skating despite scoring system changes

The rest will eventually follow;)

Gracies comeback is the most important thing for me. I would love to see her one more time, she has such a great way of skating. When I heard she is coming back, it gave me such a boost :hap93: Besides that, I just hope everyone is happy and healthy.

- Evgenia's performances and seeing her new programs
- Seeing Alina dominate this season alongside Evgenia like last year
- Daria Panenkova having a wonderful senior debut hopefully concluding in a GPF or world medal
- Bradie's 3Lz-3Lo
- Ksenia Sinitsyna killing it on the JGP
- Gracie's comeback
- Kaori having a wonderful sophomore year
- Sofia Samodurova having a great GP debut and getting the host spot at Rostelecom
- Anna Shcherbakova landing a quad lutz
- Alena Kostornaya landing a 3A
- Sasha Trusova shocking everyone some more
- Seeing Polina thrive under Buyanova
- An all-Russian JGPF

Rika Kihira. The only exciting new entry in the senior circuit. Will she fall apart? Will she upset the status quo? Can't wait to see.

-Yuzu's new programs
-Javi's new programs
-Evgenia's new programs and her development under Orser and Wilson
-Alina's Carmen
-Jason's development under Orser and Wilson
-Bradie 3lutz-3loop and her artistic improvement
-Rika Kihira's debut as a senior
-How will the japanese ladies fair this season (Please Marin rise)
-Alena Kostornaia's improvement (please get that Jr. Worlds gold)
-Andrea Montesino's improvement (I fell like Raf doesn't pay her enough attention...)
-Donovan Carrillo's triple axel and possible quads as well as his overall improvement
-And how will the new rules change judging (will it be better, worse? fairer, even more biased towards certain big feds? will judges finally start calling out under rotations and pre rotations?)

- Jason's new programs and how moving to Toronto will enhance his skating
- Med's David Wilson programs and how her new coaching staff will make a difference in her skating
- Scimeca and Knierem and Alijona's influence on their skating
- new GOE rules
- Gracie Gold's comeback and hopefully her best skating yet
- Daisuke Takahashi
- Camden Pulkinen
- getting information finally on Worlds in Montreal (been waiting and waiting and waiting)

p.s. Math - I love my new avatar too. :agree:

There is a lot I am excited for- how Evgenia and Jason do under Brian, Yuzuru being Yuzuru, seeing if Wakaba can repeat her success at Worlds, Gracie Gold's comeback, ect.

Mostly I am excited for all the change that happens after an Olympic year- who is able to stick around and stay relevant, what new faces and talents appear, new programs and the creative risks that come along with a less intense season. I am generally looking forward to the next 4 years.

That's basically my list, too..
But I would add how Dasha Panenkova will fare in seniors.. and possibly Gubanova..

RusNat. Single Ladies. Bloodbath of strongest skaters in the world. The most challenging tournament ever. Juniors vs Seniors, Quads vs Triples, fair TES vs corrupted PCS. Who will win in the end? That's it

- Papadakis/Cizeron's new programs
- What will Zagitova do ? I am very curious to know how she is going to mature as a skater now.
- Medvedeva's new life. Hope she gets rid of the flutz. I also very curious about her new programs. I loved Anna Karenina.
- Stolbova/Klimov. Last I heard, they weren't retired yet. I was mad before the games :(
- Gracie Gold's comeback
- Trusova..The beginning of an era ?
