Anna Shcherbakova

So what date is her next Canada JGP? How many more months until her next JGP? I'm hoping for 2 Gold JGPF entry this season! Congrats Anna for 1st JGP Gold!

Oh, that's great!

Please excuse me, I like Anna very much but can't resist and not joke in Pink Floyd style: "so, so you think you can tell a smile from a veil, sweet angel from demon?"

Do you think you can tell?

Hey, Now I'm in the mood I have to listen Wish You Were Here (did any skater used it?).

I'm back from Bratislava and I'm really so full of emotions that words can't describe it. It was a great event full of wonderful performances, I especially enjoyed last two groups, skaters were amazing. But.... Anna was an absolute angel, so tiny, so sweet, so angelic that words can't describe it. It's an absolute delight to meet her in person and to be able to take a photo with her was a dream come true... :luv17::love::luv17:
True, her free program may not have been so beautiful and otherworldly as her short program but her itself surely was.. :thank:

Will you share it please (edited if you don't want to show yourself, I know, GDPR :) )?

So it's very soon! I'm hoping for a Quad Lutz in the free by JGPF! Or is that too much? [emoji18]
During the JGPF for sure, I'm certain. That's when a quadless program wouldn't be enough and she'd have to risk it if she wants to achieve some greater success.

I think that it's likely she'll even attempt it during her next JGP event. After all, she already managed to secure the second JGP assignment. Now she'll only need a bronze or perhaps even a 4th place to be able to make the finals. She also achieved such a high season's best that she shouldn't have to worry about that, either. Therefore, there's not so much risk with going for it there. Of course, it remains to be seen whether she's able to become more consistent with the jump by then. Hopefully! I really want to see the jump performed in competition, nothing's more beautiful than the aerial position of her quads.

Great! So she can go to Russian Nationals this season??? Along with Sasha and Alena?

Quite the contrary, IMHO. It's up to Eteri whether Anya will jump her quads, and she probably would rather sweep the JGPF podium without giving a chance for both Russian and foreign contenders.

But it's also possible that they will just follow Anya's development schedule without any considerations for specific competitions, this may prove to be more productive in the long run.

On development schedule - They were initially planning on performing the 4Lutz in the free skate at this competition, though. Remember the first run-through included it, while the one they did on the day of the free skate did not. They hadn't planned on not including it from the beginning and had a discussion where they then decided against it.

In any case, I expect to see it in the next JGP event if it at all is in a decent state. There's very little chance for her missing the JGPF even if she doesn't have a successful attempt.

"That's when a quadless program wouldn't be enough and she'd have to risk " - this sounds crazy. Could we think about ladies, having quadruple just couple years ago? But now we think that quadless program wouldn't be enough . Don' t get me wrong, I'm saying this in positive context, but still, this sounds crazy.

Yeah, but for her to even have a chance for victory, that's what it'd take... Actually, she might be able to compete with Kostornaya even without a quad. It's possible she'd slightly lose in PCS(But might even win there), but Anna's triple jump repertoire and general layout still is stronger than Kostornaya's. We don't really know about the general level of scoring for this season yet, but Anna's scores for her debut were massive. Still, when it comes to having a chance against Trusova at JGPF, it just wouldn't cut it, even if Trusova couldn't land everything perfectly. She would also need to include the 3A, but I doubt it'll be ready by then.

Daniil said in an interview that Anna's form is at around 70-80% right now yet she's still been landing some fully rotated 4Lutz jumps in practice, so who knows what she'll do when her form is at 100%?
