The whole purpose of test skates is to impress RusFed. Their opinion have a huge impact on assignments, funding and political backing overall. That's why it's crucial to show your weapons and do as well as possible on the test skates. A "basic" programme won't cut the mustard.

Re the test skates: Evgenia’s main goal is to show her best to her federation and to use the test skate as a way to assess where she is in her preparation for the season. The point isn’t using the test skates as a weapon in a war against her ex coach who, as I’ve said previously, will also be busy doing her job with her skaters.
This next season is all about Zhenya’s growth as an athlete and a performer, not about a futile war.

Is it surprising though? Sure we didn't see it in competition and it's pretty original, but it doesn't bring a lot more points than her old layout... But I guess nothing but a 3A or a quad would really be a surprise in terms of points...

Sure, in terms of points it doesn´t bring much(0,3 points). What brings her BV up? A 3F3lo combo in the FS (1point), fixing her lutz (2-3 points).

I am really, really curious to see her new FS layout and what they decided to use in the bonus. I think her SP layout may have stayed the same, but I hope they have upgraded her FS tech a little!

I haven’t visited Planet Hanyu yet but it sounds like a popular place for fans. [emoji106] This fanfest seems to regularly have a lot of activity which is great and I imagine it’s going to be even more busy once the new season kicks into gear.
