Evgenia Medvedeva

What's all this talk about her being healthy? I'm fairly new around here. Was she injured again (meaning after the Olympics)? :( Or is it the same one from before?
No, just the same one--the metatarsal bone and a vague issue with her back, but she looked good the last time she skated, so we're optimistic that she's fully healed now.

The same ones from before (foot and back). She spent a good chunk of the off-season without being able to jump because of them. She eventually regained her jumps during the ice shows in Japan, but she still wasn't doing triples-triples.

Hello. She had a fracture in her foot last season and also her back was injured. She was actually still injured during Olys. After the Olympics she was told not to jump for 3 (?) months. So in that time she was rehabilitating. She only began jumping back in June. That’s what we mean by being healthy again :)
Haha We replied at the same time.

Okay, you get in here too then, since you replied at the same time, as well. :ghug:

Oh, okay, thank you! I'll be praying for her, then.

Not being able to jump for three months sounds awful. :sad21: But maybe not for Zhenya, if she's not in the "Will Keep Jumping Over and Over Until Someone Makes Us Stop" Club with Alexandra Trusova (and me ).

I'm going to toss some additional information into the mix that may be reassuring for those concerned about rehabilitation.

While we haven't heard anything about her being in Zhenya's support mix, it appears that Siobhan Karam is in the TCC team. With TCC stating that it has 20 or so professionnal staff, we tend to only be aware of the names and roles of a few of the team.

Siobhan is a physiotherapist, she has been Skate Canada's team physio for a number of major competitions in recent years. She has also worked closely with Gymnastics Canada, and a specialist practice for concussion.

But Siobhan is also a qualified coach. She is listed currently as one of Natalie D'Allessandro and Bruce Waddell's coaches.

Siobhan, in her own athletic career, was a successful pairs skater, coached by Marina Zoueva in her early years in Canada.

So, it sounds as though there has been someone with both rehabilitation and coaching expertise available with the group as needed.

Thank you, TGee, for another insightful post. As a fan, it's reassuring to know that Zhenya is in good hands at TCC.

Haha awesome :)

Great minds think alike

"Look who we met! Evgenia Medvedeva is an athlete, a beauty and a two-time silver medal winner OI2018. She flew to control rentals, during which Russian figure skaters and figure skaters will show their new programs for the upcoming season. Wish her good luck!";)

Some more info: she landed in Moscow from Frankfurt with Brian Orser, David Wilson and her mom! She looks great :)

How exciting!!! They all look like they're in good spirits. She and her mom must be so happy to be home for a few days. I think there will be television footage judging by that camera in the David Wilson video.

Omg it‘s so unreal to see them together! This is so cute and I‘m even more excited to see her! :luv17:

And I agree, she looks younger. But it suits her, it makes her look more relaxed, too and happier! :)
Wow so will she meet with Eteri as well? How does this test skate work? Costume reveals too? Will the camera record it?
