Thank you gftn, I have never understood why some social media users feel the need demonstrate to the public that they are bullies; it’s not exactly something to be proud of. Happily, the Shoma fans I’ve come across so far seem to be as cheerful and polite as Shoma himself!

“Hidden energy” is such a beautiful way of describing Shoma’s skating :luv17: and he has such control over how he releases that energy so that every movement is fully expressed and works with the music. If nobody has looked at Shoma’s programs using Laban Movement Analysis before then I feel there is a study waiting to happen!

I would watch a program skated to video game music – the real question is what would the costume be and would he skate in character? :think:

But he never knows he causes bad diseases.

My friend got a calendar and she said, "it's a very terrible calendar. Because if you turn only one page, you can't stop to turn until the end."

Oh, I guess Sayaka san's English is better than mine, and I gonna ask people here for the English vocab:

In Japan, when people are deeply addicted to someone/ something, they use the expression "fall into xxx's swamp"->「xx沼におちる」
You know you can't come out yourself once you fell into a swamp and will only fall deeper and deeper...so any similar expression in English? :)
I know the proverb in Chinese only...

I did write a couple of posts (one very recently) analyzing Sho's programs and his musicality in particular. I think he's surely one of the best skaters right now in terms of expressivity and musicality. In terms of how he uses his upper body, too. And of course in terms of pure skating skills -- that's what many notice.

I stay promoting the idea of more video game music in figure skating (as opposed to Carmen or Moulin Rouge iteration #50,000) and I think Shoma's skating is 100% perfect for Final Fantasy stuff. I know I've mentioned it before but I actually visualize him skating when I hear Somnus. I've wanted someone to skate to Zanarkand from X ever since I heard it which is when that game came out. I don't think I'll ever live to see the day though.

A couple of weeks ago there was a Distant Worlds concert with the great Nobuo Uematsu himself in attendance. They definitely made sure to play Zanarkand and One-Winged Angel. They're mainstays :laugh:

Hmmm...Surprised that Amazon JPN won't ship the Everyday Shomita calendar to the U.S. Looks very similar to last year's desktop calendar. Don't know if it has something to do with copyright issues or whatever. So I guess I'll just get the Chang Polish wall calendar. Oh well, can't read the funny sayings on the Everyday anyway! Waaaaaaa….:sad4:

I know the expression 「xx沼におちる」 very well... but I have no idea how to translate it into English even though I'm a native English speaker! Maybe "get hooked on xx"? But I think that's a different nuance, closer to 「xxにハマる」.
(I've been solely in Japanese-language manga fandoms for years and years with no contact with English-language fandoms whatosever, so Japanese is my native language of fangirling. :laugh:)

Look at how much taller Mr. Tree is than Prince Shoma. He's bigger each time we see him! Sounds like there is some great content coming up. We're getting so spoiled...Sho wearing a watch? Really? This is a wolf for sure..."wolf with sheep's skin on it"...there's Chinese saying for that but I didn't know such expression is also used by Japanese :P
So Shoma is loved by mascots as well! From Rook to Grampus family...now he got Wolfy!
