Wow the Winter collab was wonderful, how all the choreography matched in the end!

And MS looks totally different from the version we saw at THE ICE. It’s development so nicely.

But now I’m not sure if I like the white costume better than the blue (minus the bows). The white one with the feathers sort of looks like... “Winter” lol...

gif to kill your enemies : http://shoma-uno.tumblr.com/post/177846459417/x he really is so cute

I watched that gif an unhealthy number of times  I don’t know who is a bigger mood, Sho or Alex?

LOVED the Winter collab, the side by side choreo was everything, their synchronization was so good
Yup, not a big fan of the new MS costume but it’s ok

I just found an HD video of the Shoma&Stephane collab: https://youtu.be/aLICgYjZG9Y

Some highlights of the Spoken interview, not sure if they were translated:
-He doesn't really have any goals for skating. When he was a kid, he only said he wanted to win Olympic gold because everyone else was saying that, and he wanted to sound positive rather than just say, "Meh, nothing in particular."
-Although he admires Daisuke Takahashi, he doesn't try to copy him. He just tries to match his level of expressiveness, basically, but expressing his own self, not copying Daisuke.
-He's never seen Daisuke's Moonlight Sonata! He actually hasn't watched that much of others' skating.
-When he fell at and cut his hand, he didn't realize until a while later that there was a pebble stuck in the wound. :eeking:
-He plays online games a lot, so there must dozens of people who have no idea that they've been teammates with a champion figure skater.
-He eats shabu-shabu for breakfast.
-Itsuki has to hide his chocolate in the refrigerator or the freezer, or Shoma will steal it.
-He doesn't really think about anything else while he's skating.
-When he was a kid, he didn't really have any particular career goals. He just figured if he found something he liked better than skating, he'd do that. If not, he'd keep skating.

Lol, it sounds like Shoma usually just does what his coaches or whoever tell him to with regard to things like the soccer event and doesn't feel much about it. Then, he has to come up with some canned answer to avoid headlines like, "Soccer Event: Shoma Felt Nothing".

I can soooo relate to that. "I dunno. My boss told me to, so I did it," should totally be an acceptable answer when asked how you feel about something.

The Winter collab was 100% worth waiting for :dbana:

I just had to go back and rewatch Stephane and Dai at the Turin Olympics after that. Couldn't help thinking that a) they both look so young there, and b) I think I enjoy their skating even more now.

in moonlight sonata at 2:04 he took out the dégagé/battement he was doing before... i hope he puts it back i really liked it in the program. Other than that it looks really good and a lot more seasoned. Agreed i prefered the purple costume but without the wings, the white is nice though.

LOVE the collaboration. It was fun to hear how excited the audience was during that piece. It was worth it just to see Stephane's costume! The first thing I did last season when I heard Sho was skating to Winter was watch Stephane's version -- definitely worth going back and watching the whole thing!...Moonlight Sonata just keeps getting better and better. Hopefully only a few days now 'til we see the for-real costumes! I can picture something fiery for the SP but have no idea what they'll do for Moonlight Shomata. I really hope they don't use white.

I am not crazy about the MS music but Shomita does a wonderful job skating the program.

Seeing Stephane in his Zebra costume brought back memories. Great collaboration, loved it!
.

Thanks everyone for all the links! It has been a Sho Feast of goodies here lately!

I LOVE this white costume, but I agree that in a competition, under a different light, it might lose much of its appeal. It reminds me the yellow Turandot, which looked awesome in shows, but somewhat dubious at the Four continents.

I remember saying between the last ice show and Lombardia, we should expect total silence. Thank goodness, it's been anything but that! I was wondering when he would leave for Italy. Should be pretty soon if he wants to do his 3-5 days for jet lag routine. He's probably renting a rink, even as we speak. Maybe if Mr. Tree goes with him (I think he went last year?), he'll post a photo. Good luck Shomita!oops--maybe it's a little too early to start wishing him good luck! :luv17:

LOL Arriba about renting the rink. ;)

Yes we have to remember not to discuss Lombardia here in FF while the competition is in progress. So I will wish Shomita
Good Luck now! GO SHOMA!!!!!:cheer::love::points:

Mr Tree was definitely there last year. I think I saw him. :)

Thank you hanyuufan5 for the translation!

In light of Shoma ‘stealing’ Itsuki’s chocolates, i think we should throw him more chocolates this season if anyone is going to any of his competition please do so 😄

Apart from luxury goods, food (and drinks) are prohibited as gift in ice shows (and competitions), so I wonder if any skaters will get those...

Well, the biggest "risk" for Shoma is...those probably expired tea in his bag :palmf:

Ah...then itsuki will have to continue suffering the lost of his chocolates.

Omg true...Shoma please don’t drink spoiled tea

I saw the Spoken! translations on twitter and I just thought to myself, "ah, yes, this is the skater I'm rooting on..."

-He's never seen Daisuke's Moonlight Sonata! He actually hasn't watched that much of others' skating.

Actually shocking to me. I thought, because he said "many legends have used this music" he meant Dai, his idol. I thought the inspiration especially came from Dai.

I know the expression 「xx沼におちる」 very well... but I have no idea how to translate it into English even though I'm a native English speaker! Maybe "get hooked on xx"? But I think that's a different nuance, closer to 「xxにハマる」.
(I've been solely in Japanese-language manga fandoms for years and years with no contact with English-language fandoms whatosever, so Japanese is my native language of fangirling.)

I'm very late, but in English fandom we say "fall into xx hell" a lot. Not swamp, but hell.

Like whenever you get into a new series or something so deeply, you say "ah I have fallen deep into Persona hell..." in case of Shoma, perhaps we could say "ah I have been sucked by mysterious power of those thighs there's no escaping."

I'm so tempted to buy that Everyday Shoma calendar, I want to have one at work. Coworker has shown appreciation for him I'm sure the others will do too. I'm not ashamed of my love for Shoma. But pretty sure Amazon JP can't ship to my country and my friend in Japan hasn't been responding to me.

That collaboration with Lambiel is such a blessing... Lambiel is also a favorite skater of mine. Put the two together in one rink and I'm gone. I'm :dbana::dbana::dbana::dbana:

.....okay I registered at Amazon JP and they could actually send them to my country (with costly shipping fee) what do I do :palmf:

iorii, as you said, all of us "have been sucked by mysterious power of those thighs there's no escaping."
Thus (trying to) do everything to pre-order Everyday Shoma calendar is pretty understandable

Remember Shoma's quote: "Kakin doesn't mean you lose, but it's the way to make you become more powerful!"

The Spokane! Interview was good because right from the beginning the host commends Shoma for saying what he really feels, and not give model response to please the media; and encourages him to be frank.

I especially like the part beginning from 6:00 ish where Shoma talks about his trying a lot of new things recently. He says he was always been shy and reserved but now he feels less embarrassed about putting himself out there, and wanted everyone to see him change and grow. So recently he has been trying things he never would have in the past (including, as he says, “josoh” = cross dressing:laugh:) , He feels new experiences have given him new perspectives, and allowed him to develop. And now he will at least try things a few times before saying “no”, and if he does something and felt he got nothing out of it, that is ok too.
