Alina Zagitova

For whom? For you ? I am very sorry for that

Dont be sorry Ed. I am thrilled Alina Zagitova ruined a lot of people's Olympic party and they can never take that from her. Zhenya skated well but Alina deserved to win the gold and I'm glad her coach did not hold her back.

She ruined the Olympic party...

For whom? For you ? I am very sorry for that

I'm almost 100% sure that zounger is referring to the "powers that be" in the Russian FS community.

It's like they had their fairytale already written but that "upstart" had to ruin it.

But I have not seen much of that outside of TAT and maybe the Russian Ice dancer whose name escapes me.

Many postivie reactions - including Yagudin, Plushenko, Trankov - just to name 3 off the top of my head.

I also think that Mishin was positive, or at least had nothing negative to say.

Hey, guys, I decided to show you the picture of Alina that the organizing team of the Grand Prix Helsinki has chosen for VIP-tickets of the event -

There is absolutely no doubt that Yuzuru AND Alina will be the highlight of this event, both Olympic champions in Finland. I can't wait to see her live with costumes on! And I am proud to say that my seat is situated convenienty in front of the point where she has her jumping passes for 3Lz-3Lo and the Charlotte-2A. :luv17:

I glad that TAT is not in the organizing committee ...

Everything that hapenning right now is so heartbreaking! :sad4:
Russian Fed doesn't deserve Alina. If justice somehow will prevail at the end, I think I'll start to believe in gods.

New comments from TAT :dev2: about Alinka ( google translate)

"She grew up last season. Now I do not see her getting taller. I do not know her anthropometric data today, I was not interested in that, but I think she's the same. I noticed how she grew up before the World Cup - What can the athlete's fall be associated with? Nerves? - I can not answer this question, because I'm not her coach. But I can say that I do not see her program yet. In music, of course, she will fall, but her accents do not reform figure skating. I was expecting a bomb from her for this season, but so far this has not happened. The most important thing she has not added is the basic work on slipping, and this is evident. I have a feeling that in skating she did not get better. True, the girl is growing up, and she is still Not in a shape . Probably, she is not ready yet. It's just that we have not seen her like that yet, we have only one year and the junior world championship and victory at the Olympic Games. Let's see how her career will develop. Alina - certainly a talented person But I do not see fire in her eyes And it's very sad. When she threw her hands up last year, her eyes was on fire - and this is one of the most important qualities when you want to win. This is a question of energy, desire and maximum pleasure from what athlet does, "- said Tarasova

I think that part of this is more a criticism of her coaching team regarding the skating.
Contrasting their methods with that of Brian Orser/Canadian methods in teaching skating skills.
That's the only possible "dig" I see from TAT.

If I hadn't seen Alina perform in the ice shows over the spring and summer, I probably wouldn't care, but now I know what she is capable of.
Beautiful elegant flow across the ice, excellent positions that are held for more than a second, etc....

I want to see her "glide" more too and not be restricted by way too many movements that disrupt her flow.
Also I want to see her spirals in all their glory - not just a fleeting moment.

Other than that, I think TAT is concerned that Alina may have lost some of her competitive fire based upon what she saw at the test skates.

I think that she wants Alina to be cultivated to her FULLEST potential (which is HUGE) and also hopes she hasn't lost the most important thing any athlete needs besides talent - the overriding desire to WIN.

I was too negative about the Carmen program. If they work on making the choreographic sequence a moment, attack and clean up the step sequence, and keep the audience happy clappy during some of the jumps, then it'll be okayish.

The jump layout(2A 3Lz-3Lo 3S 2A | 3Lz-3T 3F-2T-2Lo 3F) seems a bit error prone than last year because if she misses the first combination then she has to change another combination instead of just adding it onto a solo jump. That's a lot that has to be rearranged mentally.

This 100%. Of course Alina had fire in her eyes at the Olympics. This was a test skate. It’s idiotic to compare the two.
It’s too bad about TAT. I used to make excuses for her biased commentary but after seeing her most recent comments on Alina and Elena R (who she previously loved) I’ve lost all respect for her.

I am so happy that you get to see Alina!
What a great seat you have.
Are you just watching the ladies event, or will you be able to see Yuzuru Hanyu also?

How can you have fire in your eyes for a test skate?

My main concern for our Olympic champion is pressure and I hope the pressure of having to defend her Olympic Championship with everything she does does not get to her and wear her down. The pressure got to her for her world's long program as well as she was damn tired let's be honest and had been ill too.

What did TAT say about Elena?

Thank you, I am fulfilling more than one dream, I will see Yuzuru as well! It's a one-hour flight from where I live so it will be a crime not to try to see them, especially Yuzuru who could retire the day he lands the quad axel which could be soon.

About Alina... I want to meet her in person because her mental strength for the last seasons gave me hope and motivation to get through some personal issues, Alina's skating helped me in tough moments and for me, she is special. I don't know if a present for her would be a good idea, she has plenty of them. I would rather have a small chat with her, oh, God, please, I want to be one of the blessed fans who have this chance.

Actually I hope that all the criticisms and concerns make her an underdog again and fuel an "inner rage" in Alina.

Now we've got Liza T and her 3A and 3lz-3lo, Evgenia with Brian Orser, and all those juniors who are going to make her "obsolete".

C'mon Alina - kick some major league #$@# again. It's "Baby Boss" time again!!!!

I agree with this post. I actually didn‘t see a dig directed at Alina in this interview. TAT was cheering very loudly for her during the Olympic FS, calling her defender of the fatherland and everything. She‘s not exactly classy and some of the things she‘s done are just plain wrong but come on, this interview just looks like she‘s concerned. If anything, it‘s a dig at Eteri and Daniil, not Alina. And actually, I’d like to see her have some choreography where we really see her moves shine. She is such a talent at spinning, she has so beautiful positions when she‘s doing a spiral - just let her hold it longer, let it create a moment! This Ina Bauer has the potential to be a WOW-effect. I like Daniil and I often defend him but here I feel like TAT has a point. I know judges love transitions but you don‘t need to raise your leg a million of times if it doesn‘t accentuate to the music. She can show blade control and difficult skills, too, if they drop... say... five of those moments when she just randomly raises her leg and let her hold a few selected positions a bit longer instead. Sometimes less is more. I actually find her FS to be pretty good. I like the beginning pose and the end pose so far. The rest I have to see in competition because it‘s obvious she was struggling yesterday and didn‘t perform it anywhere near to its full potential. So, I don‘t want to judge yet. The more I watch it, the more I can appreciate her SP, too. I‘m still no fan (and will likely never be) a fan of those music cuts but she has a few breathtakingly beautiful and exciting moments in it. Just... these positions... just let her hold them a bit longer. This is something that has always bothered me about Eteri style programs. I liked them but I felt like they could be even better, even more impressive if they just didn‘t rush to include EVERYTHING that the skaters are capable of doing but just a set of positions and moves in each program. Then you can have variety, too every year and switch around a bit. We all know what these girls can do. We see it already. Just let them and us breath a bit and appreciate a beautiful moment before you start doing the next. This is all I have to say.

I really hope you get the chance to speak with her.
Try to start researching now the best way to go about it.
Good luck!

Good luck! 🍀 I hope you master it!

And tell me about how you did it because there is a slim possibility I might be going to Euros 2020 and I‘m hoping to see our Russian ladies (I‘m hoping for Evgenia, Alina & Alena there... :luv17: let me live people I‘m just dreaming😂😂) and Caro and if I‘m using the same “strategy“ I used with Alena at JGP Austria (basically hesitating for an hour before daring to ask) I have a slight feeling that this might not work. And there are so many people at such an event... one must be really lucky to get the chance to even get an autograph from a skater let alone talk. So, I‘m really hoping that you make it. Alina and Yuzu in one event... that‘s really a dream coming true for you. So excited! :hap10:
