Oh... I have a question... So in case he does 4T3A does it mean he can actually do another three jump combos in FS or not? In theory of course? Or 4T3A being a jump sequence with BV of 0.8 still counts as one of three combos allowed? New rules masters- come and share the depth of your knowledge please!

4T3A counts as a combo for purposes of the number allowed (even if it's a SEQ and thus worth 80% of its BV) but you're is still allowed to do two other combos, including a 3-jump combo. Gabrielle Daleman did 3T+3T, 3Lz+2T+2T and 3S+2A+SEQ in her FS but I think she's getting rid of the SEQ this season.

I don’t see the move as head banging, and honestly when it was described as pecking I thought someone was saying there was a rooster sound in the music!

I love this little move, to me, it’s very obviously when the character/being that he’s portraying in the program “wakes up” so to speak. The sound reminds me of a heart beat, I see the movement as someone’s heart being woken up. I wonder if this is Shae’s intent too. I saw the program before I saw her interview with PJ Kwong and given what she said this might be what she was going for.

I also thought "heartbeat" seeing as he was doing it to the beat of the music...which was a heartbeat sound, and I also love it. Hope to write up my ACI review tonight.

To me that move somehow looked like a cygnet birth from an egg. Like he's trying to break the egg shell. Fits the black swan costume image, isn't it?

After being hospitalized for two days, watching Yuzu's free at home made me smile again. It wasn't perfect, but amazing enough to dispel all the stress and negative thoughts.

I'm glad that his own health has top priority for him. Nothing is more important than health. No title or record or jump. NOTHING.
He should listen to his body and only do what he feels, he's capable of. No matter, who is trying to push him (Olympic Channel, media, fans...)

I love his new costumes, music and choreo. Everything. Hope, I do not "oversleep" his performance next time

Oh no, I hope you’re feeling better!

I think his every program this season is full of references and somebody will sooner or later study those and make a video analysis showing their findings. Both programs are tributes to his idols but also friends and skaters who influenced his development as a figure skater. He is quoting their signature moves to say thank you, not copying them.

Calm down, I don't think Yuzuru copied it, or he copied anything especially tha move. That was my joke and it seems I choose a bad word if you take it so seriously..

A bit better :thank:
I'm still searching for some alternative medicine. My body seemed to become immune to the old one... that's why I collapsed on Saturday morning and missed the last day of ACI :sad21:

However, Yuzu's freeskate and the medal ceremony gave me life. Sadovsky just staring around and Yuzu poking him: "Hey dude, your medal!" :laugh2: And they even put it on him the other way round :palmf: Lovely to watch.

Did you see the part a bit later where Roman didn't want to let go of him?

Sorry to hear you had to go to hospital, that sucks! I hope you can find something that works better for you soon.

Actually my comment was meant to explain what I thought about that and I wasn't angry at you. On the other hand words like "calm down" sound rude to me.

I hope everything is okay now.

I absolutely love his programs. I can’t wait when it’s all polished and really shine like it’s suppose too.

Speaking of Roman, did anyone share this here already? https://www.instagram.com/p/BoGB4FEA2RS/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1s7sygtqim131
With the thread going so quickly this weekend I lost track of where things are being shared

Get well soon, Henni147!

Roman was so cute. He was so happy being on the podium and so giddy standing next to Yuzuru 😂. They used to trained to together so I was surprised how awe he looked staring at Yuzu. Very cute moment, the whole award ceremony was cute. I’m glad they let it happen on the ice instead of backstage.

They knew better... Happened on ice last year too and the time before.

Roman is definitely one of us... I think there's going to be a fair bit of that this year, Yuzuru has moved quite decisively up the list of living legends (which he probably was before PC, but now... oh boy) and unlike most who reach that peak, is still there are competing, even in something small like ACI.

Get well soon, Henni147!

Definitely, from me as well!!! May thoughts of Yuzu, Otonal, Origin and Helskinki soothe and bolster....

PS - something I love the thought of to much not to share here...

I don't think I remember him ever putting a combo on his 3F because of its location in all his layouts (third jump pass) and his previous edge issues. He did land a lovely 3F2T out of spreadeagle during practice at ACI.

But with this 4S3T 4T3A 3F2T plan he's basically not doing any 3 jump combo in his layout.

Thank you, that was what I thought too, because all I could remember was 3F as a single jump (with lovely entry) in his LP. It's great we may be going to witness one more new thing from him :)

Lovey post :luv17:

Won't frontloading his SP at GP put him in 2nd place in the SP, mainly because his BV is lower?

I understand it's more beautiful, but I read that 115 is the max score he can get with the frontloaded layout in SP.

By GPF, quadsters like Nathan and Boyang may have a much higher BV in SP. I think Yuzu might end up putting 1 of his jumps in 2nd half just to win SP.

But with this 4S3T 4T3A 3F2T plan he's basically not doing any 3 jump combo in his layout.

He was doing 3Fe-2T in SP in 2008-2009 season. And in FS at junior world championships in 2009 he did 3Fe-3T and it was the only time when his flip wasn't a third jumping pass. It was second . But it has always been in a first half. He used to have a pattern. It's really hard to predict Yuzuru's layout this season :noshake:

When I saw him practising 3F at ACI, I found it strange that he didn't replace 3Lo with it because we are so used to it being third. I was also confused about 4S-3T, 4T-3A, 3F-2T. Where's your combo with 3 jumps, Yuzu? Because he could go for 4lo, 4T, 3F, 4S-3T, 4T-3A, 3A-eu-3S, 3Lo. But then again there's possibility that it doesn't match the music. Or maybe he wants that 3Lo as third jumping pass for some reason. It might be a placeholder for 4Lo. Who knows?

I actually think that he didn't want to do 3 jump combo at ACI because of stamina issues. And for sure he has some plan. Like in 16/17 season he was so stubborn with 4S-3T in a second half, even though he was getting 4S-REP. And it was all because he wanted to remove 4S from first half, include 4Lz and have 4S-3T combo with a second half bonus in Olympic season.

I hope he will keep 4T-3A sequence in his layout. It's something unique.
