Hey people!!!!, today is Alexander’s Birthay, 19 years old. This is the only place where I can express my best wishes to him.
Happy, happy birthday Sasha, I wish the best in your live, reach your dreams, return to ice next season and give us new beautiful programmes ( I hope so). But overall no more injuries, health and happiness in everything. It’s a pleasure see you skating, and your charm. Believe in you, work hard. I wish you the best of luck and success.

So I'm back. Apologies for the long hiatus!

Sasha is currently in Kislovodsk for an off-ice training camp. Photo: https://www.instagram.com/p/BjsM0EGjoZO/?taken-by=alexander_petrov_fanpage
He had a short holiday last week and before that he was in Tartu Estonia for a training camp. There was a gala as usual in Tartu but there are no videos from that. Seems he skated to Sabre Dance there. So this is camp #3 so far. There are still 2 more camps to go before the start of the new season. One in Courchevel and the last one in Tartu again.

Unfortunately Sasha didn't make it onto the National team, neither the main team nor the reserves. So he might not get a GP this season, or at the most just one. We'll see how it goes.

He's gotta watch that hairline... just sayin' *slink*

Right now they're in Courchevel, with Benoit Richard. Can we finally have another Richard programme, urgh.

Yes! Good luck, Sasha!

I've missed him too - I've just been thinking (trying to tell myself) that hopefully this has been a case of "no news is good news". Hopefully his recovery has been going well, and things will be better this season. I do so hope there will be videos.:) I'm also very curious as to programs &c.

Yeah, so he won. 236+ total score. Landed the quad in both programmes (hand down in the FS) but messed up a few triples.

Music choices are okay. Can't really say much about the choreo, since early season Mishin team choreo is always pretty bare. But at least he's dressed well in both programmes. And the costumes are new.

Tech wise: as usual needs more speed and better spins but at least there are some visible improvements in the quad and he doesn't look like he's starving anymore (not joking btw).

I thought both programs were good, if not great (at least not yet). His stamina doesn't seem to be quite where it needs to be yet, as he was visibly knackered at the end of the long program, but he seems to be going in the right direction. Even if he had that hand down in the free, the quad seems much more solid - I get the impression that it is probably quite consistent in practice.

Sasha finished 3rd at the 2nd Stage of the Cup of St Petersburg. Score is about 22 points lower than in the 1st Stage. The jumps were just not working.

Finished third at Cup of Russia. 241 something.

Obviously much better than SPB competition, and thank goodness. What does concern me is that his spins are pretty bad and that he has no 3-3 combi for now, he keeps doubling the second jump.

I think if he medals in his next CoR event, he should be able to make it to Nationals. Fingers crossed please.
