Jason Brown

So...

I just booked a flight for Montreal next month.

:hap93: for you, @Mrs. P.

Will it be mom’s weekend away, or is the whole family going to see Jason?;)

Definitely a mom-cation. My kid is NOT ready to sit still for several hours. Stars on Ice proved to be a stretch, lol. I owe Mr. P, of course. On the other hand, I also work from home AND take care of her twice a week, so I think he doesn't mind giving me this break.

This trip is totally random, cause SkAm is within driving distance -- but going to SC actually worked better with my work schedule and the cost wasn't that bad.

I'm excited to see Jason skate, of course, but honestly the whole SC line-up is really good! Also hope to sneak in some time hanging in Montreal too.

I'm going to get my fill of Canada this year... I'm going to GPF too! Apparently going to competitions in the U.S. was so last season.

I saw fan accounts that Jun hugged Jason excitedly after his FS. Jason is such a sweetheart people just love him.

Jason could skate the Piano every single season and I wouldn't get tired of it:luv17:

Which considering I was not sold on tinkly piano music when I first heard it ............

Ah so many good moments with that free skate. I honestly think The Piano is more iconic for Jason, if not as well-known, than Riverdance, IMO.

All that said, I think The Piano had a suitable ending at 4CC, kind of bittersweet, but still nice for him to end with a beautiful and clean program.

I haven't seen this posted yet ... Jason got a nice shout out in Alex Krasnozhon's FSO article when he discussed attending Champs Camp for the first time:

“You get to be alongside the top six, seven men in the country in the senior division and that feeling, it feels really good to skate with those guys. You look at them, and you learn something from them, which is kinda cool,” he says. “You see how they are prepared, and some of them, like Nathan [Chen] and Jason [Brown], you look at what they do and are like, ‘Wow, this is really cool, maybe I want to incorporate that into my training.’ So its not just about showing your programs—you get to see how the best of the best train.”

Jason has new swag.;)

The t-shirts now read “No ponytail No problem”

Is that Lambiel standing next to Jason? What I wouldn't give to see Jason skate to something Lambiel choreographed...

According to a tweet from his Japanese Fan Page, he's going to be skating to Can't Stop the Feeling for Carnival on Ice:

[jo&caoi] Jason is going to skate ex number "can't stop the feeling" that was slipping on soi. "carnival is a festival, so I think it's fun." I want to cheer up by cheering 😊

Jason's love of Japanese rice balls is well known and, of course, he had to seek them out as soon as he arrived:

By the way, Jason had eaten three Tunamayo rice balls since he arrived at the Japan yesterday. 🍙🍙🍙 when I asked if I didn't sell rice balls in toronto, I heard that some of them are sold but they don't taste good. The taste is totally different, Japan rice balls are more delicious! I had to say, 😊 eat a lot during your stay Japan

Jason and Stéphane standing next to each other :luv17:
Stéphane choreo for Jason (those spins)

And Can’t Stop the Feeling makes perfect sense for the gala. It’s a crowd pleaser:biggrin:

Wait, what? Three weeks before Skate Canada he’s getting jet lagged and losing a week of training time so he can do a show program he’s performed 90 million times already?

Given the state of the FS, I understand your feeling, but isn’t Japan Open, and even the Carnival gala part, a big payday? He probably wants to contribute at least soemthing to the Brian Orser training fund?

Or maybe I’m completely wrong:scratch2:

I suspect Jason had such a craving for the tunamayo rice balls that he accepted Carnival on Ice just so he could go to Japan to get some. :laugh2:

On a more serious note, the arena is also the location for Worlds 2019. Jason has the opportunity familiarize himself with the location/ice and that can help when he visualizes making the World team.

The Japan Open prize money is definitely really good and I bet Carnival on Ice pay is great too.

It would have been nice to do a competitive program, but I can see why he went this one.

I was reading some of the tweets on Twitter and it sounds like it was well-received. And apparently, he got a shirt that has his name in Japanese (like the SOI shirt).
