I was about to post this dress! It looks gorgeous and I agree that Zhenya would just slay wearing it.
Olga truly has remarkable designs.

I wonder who this dress is for, though? It doesn‘t look like a dress for a junior/novice skater as it‘s a bit too tall for one of them, they are usually pretty tiny. Maybe it‘s an exhibition dress for someone.

On the current topic I can only say that I have trust and faith in Zhenya as she has never given me any reason not to. She is an intelligent, wise, determined and strong young woman. I‘m sure she‘ll work hard to correct all her mistakes and improve the programs, especially the free.

As for the FS: I‘d really like a colour combination like this for her dress. A bit darker than her current one. I don‘t know for whom this one is made since Olga didn‘t leave any caption but I think it would suit Zhenya regardless. What do you think?

It's exactly what I think ! Zhenya has never given reasons for us to be hopeless, even in the most complex situations (injuries, excessive pressure, getting the 3 places for Russia when her teammates fall, etc.) she has always fulfilled.
We can't to be so greedy with the "first place" when she is just getting acclimated to her new environment .The "worst" thing she has achieved is a silver medal, is that a bad thing? Of course not.

I think I trust more in Zhenya than in myself hahaha, is that the girl has such a strong mental strength

I also love Olga's designs, she makes shipments abroad, maybe she can make a dress for Zhenya, but it's likely to take a little longer.

That‘s what I was hoping of course... But I did not want to say it directly because then it might not be true after all... But I remembered all of Zhenya‘s other dresses and they are all quite long soooo I got my hopes up... not a good idea, I guess.

But it doesn‘t matter that much anyway, Zhenya‘s beautiful in whatever she‘s wearing.

(Yeah, yeah, that‘s what I‘m telling myself while still secretly hoping for a dress from Olga. )

I think she does when it‘s known for whom the dress is or she just posts a detailed view of it. Most of the time she tags the skaters or describes the dress and the working process. Bur now it’s just an empty post with no description which seems a bit odd. But maybe it’s really a new dress for Diana. She’s an ice dancer and they have tango as a theme this season? The dark red could suit her well...

Well, I did say before that I wished it was a different color, but I think really the thing about it is: it doesn't seem to have been designed with a specific theme or image in mind. Zhenya's dresses in the past were very beautiful and elaborate, but the important part is they fit with her programs in a way that I cannot imagine her skating those programs wearing something else. Her current FS dress... It's not memorable or unique at all. It's not a bad dress, but... to me, it's just a dress.

Well, I did say before that I wished it was a different color, but I think really the thing about it is: it doesn't seem to have been designed with a specific theme or image in mind. Zhenya's dresses in the past were very beautiful and elaborate, but the important part is they fit with her programs in a way that I cannot imagine her skating those programs wearing something else. That was my issue as well. Her other dresses were always a perfect fit, they were incredibly detailed and matched the theme and feeling of the program. For example, her 2017 SP dress with the light blue combined with the lighter theme of her SP... and then the FS dress: longer sleeves, darker colours matching the more serious theme. I can’t really describe it since I have not much knowledge about dresses and clothing in general. But when I saw her in a dress, it always seemed to be a match made in heaven to speak a bit pathetically. Her dresses this season are good. Beautiful even. But they don‘t seem as detailed, as thought through. The one for the SP matches the theme a bit more but the FP one doesn‘t. I generally wouldn‘t mind the colour at all, I just don’t find the light red to be fitting for this more mature and darker theme.

But note that this is just ... well, dresses, certainly not the most important thing. And we should probably also note that they had a real lack of time so it’s only logical that they didn‘t spend too much time on finding the perfect dress, there‘s certainly a lot more they have to fix first and should focus on. Next year will be different in all aspects when they have more time for details. This year‘s an adjustment period for Zhenya to settle in, get to know the coaches, experience their methods of training and so on.

So, this whole dress discussion as I see it, is something entertaining to talk about while waiting for new info and her GP debut but nothing to take too seriously.

I think her scores for the sp would have been 4 points higher if it was based on her test skate. I just rewatched her ACI performances and I think both programs will build and get better, they really are good programs.

I think judging in North America is strict in general. But let's wait and see.

The judges at Skate Canada were probably the harshest of all the GP judges last season. They were very quick to make edge and under-rotation calls.

I remember it. Generally I have my own (not positive) opinion about judging at events hosted by Skate Canada. But I believe in Evgenia Her first GP won’t be easy. She will face there Liza with her 3A and Elizabet who is on the roll in this season. There is less than 3 weeks now to the competition and I’m already so stressed!

Do you think she could win against Liza? 3A is a big factor but she doesn‘t have a 3F, so her TES is a bit lower. Normally I‘d say Zhenya is going to win by consistency but both aren‘t exactly consistent at the moment, so... Elizabet repeats 3S ans 3T in her free skate whereas Zhenya repeats 3F and 3T. Also, she has 3S-3T in her SP whereas Zhenya has 3F-3T. So, there‘s an advantage there. But this season, Lil‘Bet rarely makes mistakes. So, in the end, I‘d say Zhenya can definitely win. If she‘s clean and gets her levels on her spins and steps sequence. Then her PCS should rise, too.

well she will be coming into this with a solid month of work with no distractions (ie. competitions, shows), so she'll definitely be in better shape than ACI

She doesn’t have any official competitions but run throughs at TCC are pretty intense. If you have a clean run through Brian rings a bell. Gabby has said that no one wants to be the one to break a bell streak and Nam said that the sound of the bell ringing is better than getting high marks from judges. It’s a simple but very effective incentive for the skaters

It’s hard waiting between competitions but I know she’s working hard behind the scenes
