I love this interview. Again and again Zhenya proves to us how much of a determined and intelligent woman she is. I‘m so proud to support a wonderful person like her as a fan. And I‘m also happy how she speaks of Toronto, the coaches and the situation and how they speak of her. She seems to be content and happy yet equally focused on her work and to my mind, that‘s the best balance one could achieve. I applaude Zhenya for making such a bold and brave choice and I wish her all the luck in the world.

Every second I spend in the The Edge threads I'm more and more thankful that this fanfest exists.
Honestly you have the patience of Job dealing with those people. I don’t know how you do it. Kudos for fighting the good fight. The amount of time and energy they spend to pick apart things is just mind boggling.
Very excited to see the programs at Skate Canada!

Every second I spend in the The Edge threads I'm more and more thankful that this fanfest exists.
That most recent thread was a boon for my ignore list, haha. I think I might be sticking to the fan fests so long as certain groups continue to make the Edge a nasty negative place.
IN OTHER NEWS, the Hersh interview mentions new dresses for Skate Canada. I knew Evgenia was getting a new one for the short, but didn't know about the long. While I like the free program dress, I'll be interested to see a new take on it. Especially since Tursynbaeva is wearing a similar bright red dress for her Piazzolla LP. I like both skaters so no shade, honestly. I'm also just greedy for more dresses in general.

But after ACI, she said that she was fine with the FS dress and only wanted to add more crystals and darker stripes. So she just maybe wants to add some little changes to it? I think she is changing the long skate dress because I’ve noticed many skaters this season have a variation of that dress. Red with some crystals on it. So many of them! I would love a black dress.

THAT MIGHT MEAN THE OLGA DRESS IS REALLY HERS
Okay, sorry, I'll stop. It might be she just modifies the dress a bit but maybe she's getting a new one altogether. She should be able to afford it. I actually like the thought of a black dress but I'd prefer a deep wine-red dress. Not exactly like her Anna Karenina dress last season, a bit more red and a bit less... maroon? Idk what that type of colour is called.
I really don't know how I do it either. I always tell myself: Stay in the fanfests, it's not healthy to surround yourself with people who just well... have an extensively negative way of talking about people but I can't help it. Misinformation and weird arguments make me angry. I try to fight them with rationalism. Sometimes I fail spectacularly but it's at least a lesson then.
On a more positive note: It's really cool that you get to see her programs live! Maybe you'll even meet her!

I think her goals of being in top 2 in her every competition are realistic. It isn't like some people claim
palmf: :sarcasm that she thinks she can lay on the bed of roses for 2 years just to take Olympic spot in 2022. Evgenia trained with all Eteri's future stars so if anybody is aware what those girls are capable of it's her! I'm glad she looks brightly into the future but not forgetting that there is a job to be done. Brian's words about her Beijing2022 phone wallpaper are somehow really powerful for me. I really admire Evgenia for being so calm in the middle of the chaos with Eteri. If I were her I'd probably say something worth burning on golden skate pyre
Even if the choice of tango was a little bit more of miss than the hit (but I blame Wilson for it I don't remember good tango program made by him. Even Adios Nonino was average per his or Yuna's standards) the important thing for me is that she could choose it. Now all we can do is to wait for her next competition.

For me the most reassuring thing is that: even if she doesn't make it to the Olympics in the end, she'll know she did whatever she could have possibly done. I'm glad she's got a goal and is focusing on it but let's be honest: We all know how insanely tough it is to make more than one Olympics as a female figure skater in Russia. It's barely impossible at all - every few years there's a new talent that bursts into the scene with new technical content and talent. But I applaud her for having the motivation. It's a journey. For now, I can't deny it, I'm sceptical that she'll indeed make it. Not because she's got a lack of thrive or anything. If anyone wants it, it's her. So, I'd also say: While it's nearly impossible to make it, Zhenya is probably the only one I would say even has a chance - because she wants it so, so much. Only if you have the determination and strength - both physically and mentally - you can achieve a goal like this one. Zhenya has proven time and again how strong she is. She's proving it right now, by being so calm in the midst of a chaos. We'll see whether it will be enough. Nevertheless, I'll of course cheer for her on the way. It's a journey and the good thing is: We're only at the beginning of it.

The off-season made us so thirsty. We're parched. We need sustenance.
I'd love to see Evgenia in a darker dress for the LP to be honest. I like the red one and she has the coloring for it but she looked so incredible in the earlier red and black dresses for Anna Karenina that I yearn for another take on a dark palette. The black AK dress was probably my favorite though I think I'm in the minority there. It's just such a great color on her. And black + sparkle is my weakness.

I fully agree about the darker dress. (and about the fact that we're thirsty for info and content from Zhenya.
) I preferred the maroon dress for Anna Karenina but I also liked the black dress. Generally, I feel like dark colours suit her incredibly well. I liked the light SP dress she had in 2017 but it matched the theme of the music. Now she needs something to suit a tango. And it ain't tomato red. 
Even though I like the dress, it's just not what I feel matches a tango. But I'm also curious about her SP dress. We know for sure she's getting a new one so... let's speculate!
Personally, I hope it's something jazzy. I actually liked the last one she had but maybe with a bit more details that match the theme? I don't know, I'm no dressmaker.(But I know who we could ask. I think I might have mentioned her once... or maybe twice.
