Anastasiia Gubanova

There are still 3 Challengers where the entry list have not come out yet that she can try and get assigned to at least 2 and try to get a SB. Hopefully her levels and under-rotations will be fixed by then. Thankfully they are during the GP so her chances are good for the first 2 out of the 3. You can do a max of 3 Challengers. Then there are several Senior Bs where she can get qualifying scores (not SB though) in order to go to Europeans/Worlds (if she qualified) where she can get SB for next season.

And only Anastasia can say whether moving or not was a good decision. She's probably thinking beyond this season as getting at least a Senior GP was pretty low. It's unfortunate she had skate problems prior to Junior test skates.

Why didn't she go to Germany and perform their like Alina did? It was only one Russian there Zagitova there should always be 3. and why wasn't she in any Junior competitions recently? If the Russian Federation can't find room for her as a junior or senior then maybe she needs to find another Federation while she's still very young. Why couldn't she have gone and competed in that Junior event wear Alena won this weekend looking shaky. Not much competition there.

She missed Junior test skates and thus has no JGP assignments so she couldn't go to the competition where Alena was. Plus she just lost to the bronze medalist a week or two ago so who is she supposed to replace at the remaining JGP events? It is what it is on that front. The Fed ultimately dishes out the assignments so maybe they didn't want to send her or any other Russian lady to Nebelhorn. Alina only went because she couldn't leave the airport for the event she was originally assigned to.

So now we must wait until the other Challengers/Senior B rosters come out in the coming weeks.

Thank you RR. It's just frustrating not seeing Nastya compete while her compatriots both older and younger than her are getting the Competitive Edge they need to last the whole season. Meanwhile Nastya is spinning her wheels just practicing.

But she has competed, twice and the last one was very important. And her upmost priority is trying to qualify to senior nationals. So she has one more Cup of Russia event to try and achieve that. Then she can worry about international ones.

Didnt Nastya do well for a 14 year old at senior nationals last year?

She was replaced, no reason given :slink:

ETA: Well I guess she still has to qualify for nationals. This event is in the middle of the last 2 cup events. No national, no funding for next season that's for sure.

Well she is on the list for the Kazan stage of the CoR. Let's see if she competes there. For the complaint of her choosing Stage 2 because of the tough competition, well she should have stayed there because Kazan is an impossible field. It's stacked https://www.sportvokrug.ru/competitions/4723//participants/

I hope she can manage at least 3rd.

Her main competition in this event all compete a lot more than Nastya does. This will add even more pressure to her for this competition.

Thank goodness she got Tallin. She HAS to win this with a decent score to prove to the fed she’s worthy of more assignments and put herself on the SB list for next years Gp. Go for it Nastya!!

Wow...her Skating Skills are off the charts. She looks like she is in good form.
