Can I just say how much I love Tuk. She is my new Maria Butyrskaya. Not only is she gorgeous, she doesn't give up. She's been up high and seen some lows but, she keeps fighting and I love that. I sure hope she wins today. Sorry Med.

Liza's attitude is so inspiring.

Other than her fluke mistake in the combo, the area where Med received major deductions were due to technique under Eteri, which is the flying camel where she got level 2, and the Lutz, where she got (!), and the Lutz is actually much improved with Orser. People leave because they're not happy. Can you blame Zhenya if she wants to remember what food looks like, and not be with a coach that believes her career is over? People so quick to say it is a mistake to go to Orser

There is no evidence of anything you are saying. People love to go around saying "Eteri starves her skaters" but this is nonsense.

Evgenia did not leave because she was miserable and hungry. She left because she wanted a change. There is nothing wrong with that, but that doesn't mean it is okay to go around and talking about how sad she must have been, because she wasn't. The media and people keep perpetrating this "good guy bad guy" narrative between Orser and Eteri. It is tiring, leave it be. They are both two completely different coaches with different ways of doing things, that does not mean one is bad and abusive. Eteri isn't even my favorite coach, but I respect the work she does and I think the whole "Evil spiteful coach" idea is idiotic.

Evgenia losing levels on her spins are a problem with the current coaching team and her that needs to be resolved. She has been called ! under Eteri several times for her lutz. The lutz, while sometimes flat in practice is still inside during competitions.

I enjoy Evgenia and I have come around to be her fan, but please drop this narrative that she was starved and unhappy under Eteri.

Edit: I also do not want to start an argument that has taken place 100s of times already, especially when the mods and everyone else is sick and tired of it.

I say this because I saw russophobic comments on Liza’s twitter. In fact, averege foreign people know little about Russians and often have ignorant ideas about them, so I suspect many who see such statements as “a Russian journalist makes rasist comments” thought that this is about mainstream real media. Although this is just another marginal scum who, alas, in any country and culture exist.

Do you enjoy calling Evgenia a liar? Because of ridiculous comments like yours, she actually had to come out to address that Eteri never made those comments. And she never said anything about Eteri and her diet. And yet here you are, still bringing them up after she herself has denied them. So yes, you do have some insane fantasies; leave Evgenia out of them.

She had no flying camel in the SP but instead a flying sit spin which she never had with Eteri, and that's because Brian ditched her layback spin due to her small back injuries.

With Eteri all her spins were always level 4.

Me too, she is one of the few skaters who is still very old school with these high and low seasons but always sticking around, maybe not the most artistic skater but she has her own style, and of course she is an amazing jumper.

One thing I realised today is I am too invested in skaters and figure skating. I could really have done without the heartbreak, when watching the results in the morning. Life was way more carefree, when I only casually watched Europeans.

I’ve been thru so many of the ups of triumph and lows of heartaches with my favorites. Sometimes it’s worth it because they stick around and continue to inspire and give us moments to remember. Even if it’s not during competition. The ability to inspire is a natural gift that I don’t think goes away

The lack of logical consistency in this narrative is really something. She stopped winning against a technically superior skater and suddenly Eteri is the devil for ruining her life. Give me a break.

Evgenia need to watch her spins she git 2 V and level 3 in 1 too. Without that she could get silver/even win. Also she got < on her 3Lo which is weird. 3Lo used to be one her best jumps with 3S... i think she need to try that 2A-3Lo since she kind of struggle with solo 3Lo now?

The struggle on the solo 3Lo is likely just a stamina issue. She had all other jumps and TWO triple triples right before it and she may not be fully trained yet. She did good 3lo on practices.
