Megan Oster!

Thanks for posting that.

Was that Axel in the second half? Like the spins very much etc...

I don't know the dif between a loop or a flip so maybe some nice person on her will be kind enough to point them out. But there were 5 nice triples (2 in combo) and a very nice 2 axel. She has improved so much since this time,

Flip Jump
Taking off from the back inside edge, and "picking" with the toepick from the free blade onto the ice "vaulting" the skater upward. Then complete the rotation(s) landing on the back outside edge of the skate that was used to "vault"/the used toepick.

Loop Jump
Taking off from the back outside edge of one blade and landing on the back outside edge of the same skate. This is often called "Rittberger" in Europe.

and a very nice 2 axel.
I am going to go time that, it seemed so close, the half mark a of the video, but I have to deduct the start / intro time. I thought someone would know right off the bat, It should be thought, because doesn't the Half mark for ladies start at 1:50?
... Acutely that answers it. 5-10 seconds after.

then which one is it that they cross thier legs? I know the inside edge one is the sal, the one from the OSE and pick in is the lutz.

Thanks for posting the videos. She is very talented and has a spark that I like. I look forward to seeing her at Nationals.

I am not sure what you mean for my brain (which is nothing that should be considered a standard in FS, there are much wiser posters as you will / have found) but they all seem to "cross legs" but the appearance of one being more pronounced in the leg cross, maybe the Salchow because the opposite foot is landed on swinging the free leg. I don't know for sure how to answer that or if I really can. The flip might also give this appearance more of crossing because of the change of foot? Also the Lutz could emphasis this for it is opposite rotation as the entrance curve...?

OSE is in reference to the front or the back?

I think the halfway mark is two minutes exactly?

I find it really hard to tell which jump is which when I see them in real time on TV. I am starting to be able to tell the Lutz because that's the one where they coast in on one edge, then slip over to the other one at the last second when no one is looking. :)

Are the Men at 2:10 then?

 truth is funny.

Sometimes I "think" it might just look like the edge change - flutz - because of the curve it is entered on, but I "think" that is just to much benefit of the doubt. See I should be a Judge, I'd over look calling it a Flip too.

I know the lutz because they pick into the ice and the leg is outward...I know the axel because they go into it forward. I think your right it's the loop since there is no pick. I know what the sal is because it looks like they are going bowlegged. but thanks, I should be an expert at this soon/.

Now I am a bit confused about the time. I think "halfway" really means halfway. A ladies' senior LP is supposed to be four minutes exactly and a senior men's is still four-and-a-half. Is juniors a little less?

Yeah, the Sal is distinctive because of that squatty bow-leg thing, plus the pre-rotation on the ice and the big leg swing. Arakawa has a great-looking one, because she is tall.

Ladies and men have a 10 second allotment before and after so I thought Ladies started counting at half way at 1:50 and Men Stated at 2:20.

I hope Megan Oster will medal at Nationals. She is as energetic as Emily but with grace on the ice.

I am rooting for Alissa and Megan.

back whenpeople did doubles, the salchow looked like the loop...on the wrong foot lol. much prettier than now, but they bowleg now because of the need to get the extra rotation.

Seems to me that I remember there being demonstration videos online of all the jumps, but I can't remember where I saw it. Does anyone know?

Here is one.

I just rolled through 1420 and couldn't find the time bonus rule, but some other things stood out #500/612 sound like this pdf - that I just went and received a new one from the ISU site to make sure - does not sound like they have made some changes. And what exactly is the difference between tights and pants when considering the men. It needs to have clarification. The way it is worded - even thinking GOP - 40% break this rule???? Going too hash thru 1342 and see what is there...

Anyhoo, couldn't find the rule for when the second half bonus starts for ladies to know for sure if Megan received the bonus for her Axle in the video on this link.

Bonus is at 2:00 for senior ladies, 2:15 for senior men, 1:45 for junior ladies, 2:00 for junior men and so on
