Ok I’m ready for SCI masterpost

SP - I couldn’t watch it live so when I saw results I was heartbroken. When I finally watched the program my first thought was “Oh dear... it will fire her up”. On positive notes her axel was amazing and she can really sell this program even with mistakes. However I liked her old look more. New dress is just plain.

FS - IT WAS ZHENYA ON FIRE. I wasn’t convinced about tango before but now she can skate it on my face and I will beg her to do it again. The step sequence was so good! And her whole energy during the program. But girl... Please do something about those lost spin levels and V. Also they should get rid of second 3Lz. Judges are clear on “no blind eye for wrong edge” policy. And I love her new dress. I saw on Instagram that the same person made dresses for Dabin Hoi so Evgenia is in good hands

EX - I was sceptical (please people of internet don’t ruin it for me with your shipping). BUT just like with Kukushka when Zhenya skates to something she loves it’s just mesmerising. Her 3S close to boards was scary but everything else was rop notch. I hope I will see more of this program because it was really good. Maybe just different dress would be better

There were articles by Japanese tabloids saying that she and Yuzuru are dating... Yuzuru had to address that after ice shows in summer. Paparazzi even followed him to Toronto to check if they don't live together... :palmf: Or maybe Russian articles? Saying the same thing... A lot of them. They were even articles saying that she and Jason are dating. And so many people believe it :slink:


Anyway, congrats Zhenya. She was the only lady I didn't watch live. I was too nervous. I muted the stream and waited for updates in a different tab and only started watching again after I saw that she skated clean :laugh:

I expected her to score well over 140 and win the event but she was somewhat underscored due to minor deductions probably because she was not in the final group. The judge panel was harsh on her and her GOE scores for most jumps were only between 0.6 and 1.3, when she could have gained more.
 
Lovely interview and lovely ex. She skated with so much freedom and feeling that it almost looked improvised at times. I hope she can transfer some of this energy into her competition programs, that would make them truly great.

(I hope this makes sense, I'm struggling to explain what I mean in English. :D )
 
What a beautiful ex from Zhenya! I'm so happy that she skated one of my favorite eurovision songs, I loved it a lot :love::love:

Me too. I'm generally Eurovision trash :laugh: I wonder who choreographed this program. Was it her? Or maybe David?
BTW Kristian Kostov who performed this song acknowledged Evgenia's performance on twitter :agree:

I wonder about the choreographer, too. It‘s a wonderful program and she looks so free. Like old but new Zhenya at the same time. I‘m warming up to her new style but this is ... wow. :luv17:

There was an article that said the rink in Laval is a little smaller than Olympic sized so I think it was a miscalculation. James/Cipres and Gilles/Poiter almost ran into the boards in competition...but luckily it wasn’t a Pchan situation lol

Honestly, this was my impression too. She just looks so free while skating, as if she's not thinking about the choreography and is fully enjoying herself. And I am so glad that there's no acting, fake faces or posing for the camera moments. This ex feels just so organic. I was surprised by her outfit but it really kind of suits the theme, it's very sensual :)

Now I'm laughing because after it was revealed that Kristian and Evgenia are friends many fans started writing comments expressing that they would like Zhenya to skate to one of his songs. I guess their wish came true :laugh:

Also Elizaveta asked her fans to send her picture of her and Evgenia which was taken after medal ceremony. I hope she will publish it because supportive Empress and Queen is what I stan and need in my life.

I think we can all agree that both Liza and Evgenia fulfilled the challenge in 200% :biggrin: BTW now I remember how Tuk defended Evgenia after she decided to move to Orser and later when The skating jerks were commenting how much she eats and how many pounds she is allowed to gain. It's great to see athlete so supportive towards fellow competitor in really crowded Russian field. Bless them both

Zhenya defended Liza? Must have missed that. (Or forgotten already. Shame on me) But good to hear. That was an awful comment and really uncalled for. And as we‘ve seen today, Liza is in glorious shape. ;)

I think Liza understands what Zhenya is going through right now. She had that period, too. Season of utter dominance and then troubles with consistency, suddenly losing out on gold medals and making mistakes she never thought she would. But she came back when everyone thought she was done and that inspires me. I think despite being defeated here by Liza it‘s a message for Zhenya as well. “Work hard and you can come back and win no matter how many people tell you you can‘t.“

Edit: Or did Liza defend Zhenya? Sorry, my fault, just me being tired results in confusion sometimes. :laugh:
