I can't imagine that Gracie would skate at a GP without being able to do the harder triples, especially since her lutz was one of her most consistent jumps. If she were only doing doubles at the moment, the GP would not be appropriate events to compete in.
I expect Gracie to be satisfied with however she skates - she knows what she is capable of and we don't. However she skates, I am hoping she is able to anticipate it and cope with it; I would hope that she and her coach and mental health professional(s) are working together on a competitive plan that works best for her, not us.
Does Gracie qualify for any byes to Nationals? If she did have to withdraw from RC, would that pretty much end her season?
If a skater/team completes at a Grand Prix, he/she/team, they are automatically qualified for nationals with a bye. If Gracie withdraws, her season is over because all the qualifiers for US Nationals are completed.
I remember Mao was doing planned doubles at her last GP event, and it was unbearable to watch. She was injured and I wished she withdrew. Hope Gracie can at least do or attempt some triples, as long as she does not risk injuring herself by attempting.
By the way, who is her coach now? Does she have a "team" working to address her issues?
We don’t *know* that Gracie was attempting only doubles at Chanps Camp, since, by its very nature, there are no official reports out of Champs Camp. Her coach is Vincent Restencourt out of Ice Works in Aston, PA, and I believe Pasha Filchenkov of the same rink may have been assisting him.
Of course, our only concern who may be assisting Gracie for skating; I’m not sure if she is working with anyone else out of that rink.
Also agree about Gracie. I hope she has no planned doubles minus 2a but I am not sure of the current state of her triples. I seriously doubt she will withdraw though for an array of reasons.
She competes in a few weeks at Tallin Trophy.Any updates on Ting?

I agree nothing is worse then watching a world class athlete being a former shell of what they once were. Watching Gracie doing nothing but doubles would be painful to watch considering she was just one clean FP away from winning a World title only two and a half years ago.

Competition is way different than practice. It takes a long time to get used to the anxiety and quell your emotions so you can focus. I'd expect a very messy competition from Gracie. It's ok. She'll grow from there.
