Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

OMG...Liza retweeted it. --And now I see 100 things I should have fixed. It was only a rough sketch! :hopelessness: :drama:

It's an awesome sketch!

Those two comments just say everything about how good you are at your job, Specs.

The professional artist doesn't think her work is good enough, while the rest of us think it is absolutely amazing!

Although I couldn't draw to save my life, I am also a bit of a perfectionist in the things that I can do.

So, from one perfectionist to another - it is just right. :agree:

Every time I see Liza's SP I love it more! She's soooo in character! And her jumps are brilliant! That 3A is a blessing!

All hail the Empress!

I can't wait to see the FS! Although I'm not sure how the scoring will go...Liza's GOEs for jumps should be huge, but they never seem to be. :( I hope she can make it to the GPF! That'd rock so hard!

IMHO it looks like Tukt is of the 2nd priority below Zagitiova. Those two must not be mixed in the same GP event and Zagitova is listed for a more favorable one (the one in Russia). Rating and Politics.
Still Tukt can make it to final. The 2nd place likely enough and even 3rd has some chances.

Her SP points is not a big problem. More of a problem the 2nd place scored much higher PCS and much higher GOE.
But... Tukt did 3Lz solid and in the 2nd part.

she'll end up 2nd or 3rd after the FS, she shouldn't feel much pressure here as she doesn't need a win, Tuk just needs to build confidence.
That triple axel was solid !!!

Liza

Woke up, checked the scores, and pleasantly surprised to see her in first place. Glad to see that the judges actually reward her 3A more properly this time (vs SC). FWIW, Chris from B.ESP said "I don't think I'd ever seen a woman produce a triple axel as good as that one." Good to see that with each outing, she is gaining more confidence, more flow in her program, and able to rise to the occasion (gives those doubters something to think about ;)).

Good luck in the exciting battle for gold tomorrow!

The only problem with 3A is her Mishin's style preparation.
Once the OGM was lost just because such pure skating skills and it was Mushin's boy (you all know the guy).
Too long and too empty skating before every jump or combo may be costly.

I really like Liza's SP, and preparation or no preparation prior to the jump, I am in awe of that 3A!

i think she might be the one to give alina a run for her money at GPF & Rus Nats, or at least the best bet for that currently.

I hope she makes it to Euros and Worlds. For so far, looks promising. This today from her is one of my ladies SP ever. She controls her hands so beautifully.

I kinda don't get why her PCS is so low, the 'empty' skating should mostly just effect transition and maybe skating skills scores right? I feel like she really sells her programs and so atleast performance part should be higher. The BESP guy said the choreo was really good so why's composition and interpretation so low too? And yea... her Lutz and Axel should really get better GOE

This is the rules:
FOR + 1 : 1 bullet FOR + 2 : 2 bullets FOR + 3 : 3 bullets
FOR + 4 : 4 bullets FOR + 5 : 5 or more bullets
FOR + 4 and +5 THE FIRST THREE bullets highlighted in bold must be present
Jump Elements:
1) very good height and very good length (of all jumps in a combo or sequence)
2) good take-off and landing
3) effortless throughout (including rhythm in Jump combination)

4) steps before the jump, unexpected or creative entry
5) very good body position from take-off to landing
6) element matches the music

I think (this is just my opinion) Liza's jumps do not meet #3 and #4 from the list above, and this is why her GOE is not high.
Liza takes time to prepare for jumps and there is no steps before jump and unexpected or creative entry. She needs to work on that.

Okay but she has 1-3 for her Lutz, so she should at least get +3 for that. And what about Alina who regularly hits 4-5 of those criteria? Has she broken +3 yet?

FYI:

The change in the rules means you can now discuss the Short Program from NHK once the SP for ladies is over.

However, if you want to debate Satoko's scores Liza's Fan Fest is not the best place for it. Please take it to the Edge (the Japanese ladies thread for example) or you could start a thread in the Edge.

Please keep discussion here primarily about Elizaveta Tuktamysheva.

Thank you.
