Men's Free

It sounds as if Ryan skated clean?
Good for him! He has a fun style on the ice; and is an excellent performer.
It sounds as if Evan skated a blinder; I tend to go back and forth on Evan; but it sounds as if he completely deserved this win. :)
Too bad about the fall from Johnny; but it sounds as if his other elements (non-jump) were great as usual.

I can't wait to see Evan's skate on youtube!

Was that the highest recorded score ever?
Was it higher than Joubert's when he landed the 3 quads?

Johnny has had so much pressure on him because he is gay. The world is f*cking ignorant and because of that the United Skates Skating Association wants Evan as their poster boy. Of course, Evan is gay too. He's just "less gay". The whole Tanith thing is a set-up to help his imagine. This is just like Hollywood.

I understand that people's sexuality seems to bug people in America, but...how is this 1. appropriate 2. relevant to the topic at hand?

I don't care who Johnny or Evan sleep with.

Where's a mod when you need one?

I hope Weir keeps this Long Program for next year and reclaims his title. It's such an amazing program.

What is the Tanith thing saying? They're friends, and she looks cute in a sweater so the cameras love her because the camera people are Not Gay.

I loved Evan. Johnny defeated himself. And I have never seen Ryan Bradley before, but I now love him. He just went out and danced it. Johnny's spins were better, as was his footwork, but Ryan landed his jumps, and committed to everything.

Oh, Scott, though...fifth again.

I wish Johnny had brought it a little more, though. Next time, don't watch. But all in all--can we have a men's event like this all the time? This was way better than watching Ladies.

Takahashi had a 170 at Japanese Nationals. So no it wasnt the highest if you are referring to all scores.

The mens was A LOT more interesting to watch than the ladies I agreee. I agree with the placings completely.. Rayan Bradley is quite the entertainer! I was just saying the all oogy-eyed Tanith was a little too much.. I felt like she was being stuck in our faces for a reason..

I'm a Johnny fan and I always believed Johnny is a better skater than Evan. But Evan is a better competitor than Johnny so far. I don't think anyone could beat Evan tonight, it was the best performance of his life. (And chances are Evan will not repeat this level of performance again in his career.) Even though I think TES is overrated, there is no doubt Evan deserved this National title. (Evan's scores beat Evgeny Plushenko's at the Olympics and Brian Joubert's CoR performance, where he landed THREEE quads. Not to mention Evan's jump techniques are not that clean.)

I hope Johnny will calm down and take this as a motivation to do his best at Worlds. Tonight just wasn't his night, and he needs to look at positives: his programs, both short and long, are gorgeous, and his LP is finally starting to get CoP friendly.

I hope Johnny is strong enough to stomach this competition, and hopefully become a better competitor. All that talent and potential don't matter as much if you can't bring it together. I don't want Johnny to become Emmanuel Sandhu.

Johnny is becoming Emmanuel Sandhu fast. He now drops to 3rd in his own country, just like Sandhu now has. They both looked now out of the league of the top guys on the GP circuit this year with their performances and scores.
The one thing Johnny has is time on his side being alot younger then Sandhu, other then that he is becoming the next Sandhu fast.
