On top of being heartbroken, I'm also very frustrated with a lot of commentators reactions (not only to his FS but french eurosport reacting to his SP as well), and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So I decided to rewatch and translate TAT and Yagudin as people here seem to like their support of Yuzu. Honestly, I don't agree with everything TAT says (in general) as she is usually very biased but I feel like Yuzu deserves to be someone's bias in this hard situation, especially if other commentators don't feel like being supportive at all.
Before Yagudin starts talking, Grishin (sports commentator) says that Yuzu skated with injury, so they were fully aware of the situation.
Yagudin: You know, his skate shows you once again that we are all human and, of course, we can all get tired sometimes, and I think that there should be skates like this one to show you that nothing in life goes perfectly well. In any case, even geniuses have days like this when they can't do everything. But what does it mean - "didn't do everything" - he did good 4S at the beginning and also 4T. The end didn't go well but he is so much further than anyone in the field that it will be enough for him to win. Who you are not gonna be jealous of is Alexander Majorov, who is starting his warm up, because it's very hard to avoid all the toys that are currently on the ice.
TAT: You know, I even forgot I have to do commentary. Because even with this skate I had a great pleasure seeing how he fought. Of course, after the fall and injury he had today, he, of course, was a bit not himself but he fought, and how he landed the jumps from all those positions, he added stuff, he fought, he didn't give up, he went to compete. And I always say that talent shows us a new perspective in all its entirety. With him we can see what is hidden behind the horizon, because we see our future. And a big thank you for that to him.
Yagudin: Many times we, Tatiana Anatolyevna, noted that it is very important to think when you skate. And before our eyes was the jump which he didn't land well but there should have been a combination with 3T. But he guessed that he could do euler and 3S instead. It means that every second when he is on the ice he is in control, his head works.
TAT: This is the most important for a singles skater that their head works, because head sends the impuls that legs need. It can't go without a head. I will go to him now. To say thank you. For a pleasure I had, for a lesson I had. And I will pass... Figure skating fans painted absolutely amazing picture and gave it to me so that I could pass it to him. I will give him the music I picked for him. I love this man that opens the future to us.
Yagudin: You know, after enormous amount of competitions Yuzuru Hanyu won, after two Olympic gold medals, the guy still has strength (to compete) and the most important he has the desire to continue down the skating path. We could, of course, say goodbye to him, he could stop competing because he is really the king of ice and he has a big amount of commercial offers, and the shows in which he skates, but he still chose competing.
Grishin: He is absolutely unique, of course.
TAT: He chose the hardest way because he can't live without it.
Aaaand she actually left to see him right after the scores came out despite there being two more skaters to go. Unprofessional? Yes, probably. But I'm so very thankful that she supported Yuzu so much.
I'm no professional translator so I apologize for any mistakes I may have made
If anyone wants to correct the translation, you are welcome.
