2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Who’s with anna? She’s really my dream-girl. She has that elegant moves, skating skills, great spins, body lines.. and even a QUAD! Go Anna!

I imagine Eteri, Sergei, and Daniil will all be in Vancouver with the girls, as they were at last year's final.

So we will get the expected quads,

Tarakanova AND Kanysheva will backload all combos in the FS '_'

and Liza now has a 3F, no 3 jump combo but a 3Lo as the last jumping pass.

I'm nervous, GPF will be exciting :)

Hello, I am new on the boards. Could someone in the know please say here what domestic competition opportunities there are left in the calendar for Russian ladies (senior, junior, younger) between now and Worlds. other than Nationals. (Or point to listing somewhere.) Thank you!

Really excited to see how Liza's free skate upgrades pan out. I've got her on the podium in my predictions and it looks like she's ready to go all in for it.

Why does Liza not have a 3-Jump combo?

Not sure what the rationale was, but she doesn't really need one with her other tech upgrades. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she was doing 2A-2T-2Lo before, which, even at base value, is not worth as much as the two jump combinations she's added.

She is doing 3Lz-3T, 3S-2A and 2A-3T right? How much is the BV for a 3S-2A sequence? Is it worth more than a 2A-2T-2Lo?

Super! Thank you, Spirals for Miles :) That is a nice summary. A plethora of goodies coming up, I see, even if it is incomplete.
I didn't realise that Junior Nationals was so far ahead, but it looks as if there is plenty to keep them tuned up in January.

Noooo.... I hope they are better come competition! Please, please, please!

Was it their first practice since arriving? It may take a day to get used to the time zone, but the JR ladies FS is not until Saturday so they have time before they have to compete the quads.

According to Jackie Wong's practice reports, the quads were a struggle for both Sasha and Anna today. Unfortunately, lots of falls :(

Well... rough practice means great skate as you made all your mistakes already during rehearsal and now there are none left for the actual thing, right? Or that’s at least what my mom used to tell me to keep me calm. But granted, I was playing piano at a small concert, not anything resembling professional sports lol.

Still, I‘m opting to stay positive. They just arrived after all. Maybe they need some time to acclimatize and get in the right mood.

I think so. Thank you to you and Fluture for the reassurances. I know they will be fine but I am so nervous and excited to them

I feel you. At least until now it was either my favorite seniors or juniors I was worried about and now it‘s both at one event and I‘m so excited yet nervous and I‘m just trying to calm myself down and be at least a bit reasonable.

Both shortly arrived from long E-W flights. This is just getting a feel for these robust lassies.

I did not see any comments on it at the time, but minutes before her fabulous free skate in Moscow, 10th Nov, Anna Щ fell hard twice, on both attempts at ?4-3. I was watching livestream at the time and both falls were almost off-camera. It was a heart-stopping few minutes :sad4: and all the more astounding that Anna could put it behind her and go on minutes later to accomplish her 4L+3T in her FS. :yay:
