If Liza changes her SP layout to 3A, 3Lz+3T, and 3F, she can get around 78 points with a clean SP. If she can land her 3A cleanly in the free, she can get around 148. If she can get some more PCS and GOE, she can close in on 230 points total. Lots of ifs but she has landed every jump clean at GPF minus the 3A's. This may be enough to get the European title, especially if < are called for fellow competitors.

...oh, it wasn't a joke ? :scratch2:

Well, prior to the GPF, many people still believed that a certain fellow competitor was going to be untouchable because of sky high PCS and GOEs. However, the judges ended up picking the correct winner at least. The technical panel at this event was another story, with their selective calling. However, we have seen some <'s called at GP Finland and Rostelecom already, indicating that no competitor is immune and given passes every time. Another event, another panel and what was not called this time, may be called next time.

True. But even if we look at her scores relative to her historical personal best, which were all set in 2015, SP: 77.62, FS: 141.38, Total: 210.40, she still beat that total at NHK and her historical PB in the free at GPF.

That much is true. I agree that Liza has made a tremendous comeback this season; her SP, when clean, should be right up there. It would be nice if the top 3 ladies all skated cleanly at Worlds; that would be a treat.

some nice words about Liza :luv17:

this interview on the other hand makes me sad :( feels like she's used to getting low components. Im pessimist by nature & probably should just get used to being disappointed in the future :noshake:

Wow, nice words from Irina indeed! She was the first figure skater to catch my eye way back in Torino when she wore that unitard - I thought she was the bomb :laugh2:

I so want to know what that lady is saying to her! Maybe she's telling Liza about Judge No 9 and the 6.75 for Interpretation!

Great post! Liza has certainly had quite the journey! I especially love the part apart her and Mishin sticking together and the triumphant 2014-2015 season! And it's interesting that Adelina and Liza started out at the same time, but had opposite careers pretty much (Adelina winning the Olympics, but been unable to compete since then, and Liza missing two Olympics but still skating :) )

It is a shame :( Transitions only make up one of the components after all! I have no issue with those been on the lower end, but not the others! Also the lack of GOE on some of her jumps makes no sense...maybe the 3A has a long set up, but it's a 3A! And who can find fault in her Lutz - especially when it's in combination? It should totally get a +4.

But it's good that Liza likes the way she skates and recognises that a lot of other people do too . All hail, the Empress!

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Im super sad!!!:sad21::sad21::sad21:
such a great season & to end up like this!!:sad4::sad4:

Bad news :(

I hope she's on the world team anyway, I don't think RusFed can justify not adding her after her GP season.

Get well soon, Liza!

Speedy recovery, Liza!!! I just hope she is fine. :(

But I‘m sure she‘ll be sent to Worlds/Euros regardless - provided she is healthy of course! - just because of everything she‘s done this season so far. She medaled at GPF, if she can do that, a Worlds medal is totally possible too! They won‘t be stupid enough to not send her.

I just wanted to send some support to Liza and her fans. Her season and comeback has been amazing and inspiring. She is showing what is possible in the world of women's figure skating!

She 100% deserves a place on both the Euros and Worlds teams. She has more than earned it.

I'm very sorry to hear that she is sick and I hope she feels better soon!

Is it common to be in the hospital for 2 weeks? That is a looong time.

I may be wrong but I think that quote was lost in translation.

Perhaps she needs rest and a doctor's care for two weeks.

She may have already had something and it got worse during travel to and from Canada.

In any case, wishing the best to Liza for a quick recovery.
