Some of my musings on the timeline before WC:

-Euros - 21-27 January
-Russian Cup Final - 18-22 February
DEADLINE FOR WC ENTRIES - 25 FEBRUARY
- Universiade - 7-10 March
- World Championship - 18-24 March

I think it's pretty likely that whoever goes to Worlds won't go to Universiade for time reasons. Whether Zhenya has a shot to Worlds or not will depend on 2 things:
a) whether or not she competes at Russian Cup Final [and how she does, ofc - or she may choose to do a different international competition]
b) whether or not RusFed decides to wait for Russian Cup Final\other competition to make their Worlds team announcement

If she doesn't make the Worlds team she is quite likely to make the Universiade.

Obviously it all depends on many other factors as well, like what shape Liza is in (she may do Russian Cup Final too to prove she's in shape - if both she and Zhenya do Ruscup Final they will have a head to head for a potential spot), and obviously how the Euro team does in January.

They were both thrilled about Evgenia landing 3S-3Lo combo in competition - after the big hug (after FS) Evgenia went "Sal-Loop" and Brian said "First time (giggles), I know."

I wonder how Evgenia's 3S has improved since she started training with Brian. I know its always been her money jump, but its really enormous these days...

There are a number of other international competitions this season, mostly in Europe. Zhenya might be able to do the Mentor Torun Cup in Poland, or the Bavarian Open in Germany, or the Challenge Cup in the Netherlands, and so on. And I personally believe it's unlikely that Zhenya won't either get a Universiade spot or be invited to World Team Trophy. So if Zhenya wants to compete again this season she probably can. But if she doesn't, remember she can also make use of this time quite productively to make progress with her technique and such.

Mentor Torun Cup states deadline is January 1st. It is not too late for her to go.
