Which makes me wonder, when will we get something like this? Or rather, will we ever get one?
I wonder if Anan magazine will ever dare to ask him to appear on the cover in that 'special' edition. He has been on the cover before. But not that special type..hehe

Sorry if this has been already posted, this is official tweet by the book "Team Brian" and this time they are introducing short comments by David Wilson.

"It was fun when I choreographed Yuzu's Haru-yo-koi. But I had to get it done very quickly. I flied to Japan and did the rehearsal with Yuzu on Monday and Tuesday. We actually got it done in one or two days because group rehearsal started on Wednesday."

"Yuzu has talent and passion. And not only his skating is amazing, but he is also clever. He said to me very sweet thing about this choreography, "I feel like you always make me growing.".

"Yuzu makes me want him to challenge more different things, with his unlimited potential. What I learnt from watching him is that he is the one who has great charisma. As for making the venue on his own in the competitions, he has much improved in the last few years. When he skates, whatever he does, he collects all attentions from everybody and vanishes other presences. It is rare and special gift. I respect that power, because no one can teach how to get charisma. Charisma is more special talent than the ability of doing jumps. There are many skaters who can jump, but not many who grab the hearts of audience. Yes, that is how Yuzu is. I really take my hat off to him. Wow!"

You mean the ones where they stripped down the Johnny's boys? Instead, they wrapped him up with more layers:p
I won't complain either way:rolleye:

A Chinese national TV network ran a 'top 2018 international sports story' poll. Three guesses who won by a landslide...

https://twitter.com/killua11111/status/1079228444741779457

And here's CCTV's news clip about the ranking.
https://twitter.com/risse0812/status/1079211387690246145

The data listed in the video:

Votes:320,760
Baidu search index: 2206
Weibo (China's twitter) video # of views:170 million
Weibo # of discussion 3.96 million
Weibo # of retweet 11.74 million

Yuzu is really popular in China.

Not surprised he won in a landslide. His Weibo athlete ranking is often in the top 3 (including Chinese athletes from other more popular sports) and when he broke records this year four times and withdrew from GPF, he trended really high on Weibo too. Every now and then CCTV China national TV has news about him ( using his popularity to promote the Beijing Olympics too I guess), going all the way to Sendai to film his home rink. Just like Olympic channel using him as click bait.

I rather hope he does some shows in China sometime - not only would it be epic (especially if with Boyang!) but he'd probably be credited with improving diplomatic relations

Well maybe after he retires, he will consider to do shows outside of Japan.

More about yuzu's costume making. Truly amazing!

@tinylorando
All feathers (about 100 pieces) were handmade!
Designer Satomi Ito: The idea of design came from Yuzu's last name "a non-human who was born(生) from feathers(羽)". I wanted to make costumes with that theme long time ago. This time it came true.

Saving this just in case... someone on youtube made an updated video of Yuzu's world records. All of them.

Kurt Browning: You're 17, what're you gonna do?
Yuzuru Hanyu: Do it again. Do it better. Do it another fifteen times.

Out of interest, does he hold the record for breaking the most records ? I know right after the Olympics, the two Zhenyas had around the same number of records as him, but now with 16 records , I can't think of another skater off the top of my head.

He’s broken the most records under IJS. Even more if you want to count his Olympic records separately (he set the highest score for the short in 2014, then broke that record in 2018).

Medvedeva and Plushenko broke IJS records 13 times. Plushenko had tied for most Olympic medals won but Virtue and Moir are the current record holders there.

I am so thankful we have a lot of yuzu stuff to get us by this dry season.
Seriously thinking about the 4A, imo but Yuzu can do as he please: He can go for worlds, do ice shows no jumping and skip B competitions and fully heal until GPF events and GPF in general.
He said his dream was to beat Plushy, I remember reading that Plushenko has 22 GPF wins. Yuzu currently has 10(?), so does it mean 4 seasons to go from now? (I don't know if its really going to be the case forgive me if I am too delusional right now)

Both Yuzuru & Plushenko are tied at 4 GP Final titles. Yuzuru can try for 5th GPF. Just one more

Or 2 more WC titles to tie with Scott Hamilton, Kurt Browning at 4 WCs

Yagudin also had 4 world titles... i hope Yuzu can reach at least 3 and be tied with Plushenko.... and then go higher and reach Scott, Kurt and Alexei.

Here's wishing our Overlord a wonderful, successful and healthy 2019, with everything he deserves to come true for him!

Thank you Yuzu, for making 2018 a year your fans and the sport at large will never forget!!!
