oh, google - as always - a problem of literal translation))) Zhenya used a colloquialism which means "fall apart" or "get out of shape"

Random remark, but I'm currently kind of glad Zhenya isn't there for Europeans and I can watch the Ladies in a relatively relaxed mood, because I'm losing enough nerves at the Men's event already :drama:

The press conference was kind of funny... Javi was not amused about his 4S> which I can understand (I‘m still :dev2: about it) but amidst all that he was also talking about his good friends.

“I have seen mistakes today in figure skating that I haven‘t seen in my whole life.“

Oh, yes, Javi, call out the judging. Love it! :laugh2:

About Zhenya... I‘m actually still a bit heartbroken. It‘s just not the same without her. Ladies competition is nice but it lacks the usual... flair without Zhenya Medvedeva. And it doesn‘t help that two skaters already used one of Zhenya‘s music today. Do they have to remind me again? :sad21: Euros just doesn‘t feel like Euros without her. I miss her. I hope she‘s doing well in Toronto and we‘ll see her soon.

I mean, I'm also still very sad she didn't get to go, but I'm finding a positive side in the negative... the side where I can just keep my zen and not have to bite my nails.

Hang in there, I understand your feelings. It just doesn't feel like EC to me, more like some B competition with one big star (I'm not trying to dismiss other skaters, just how I feel and of course I'm biased) in it, it lacks 'competition'. Last year the atmosphere was electric, but it's ok, Zhenya can take a step back and relax a little, while Sonya and Stasya get to experience their first big competition, and rightfully so. But I also really miss Zhenya.

It was awesome. :biggrin: Even though I still wish it wouldn‘t have been necessary...

I‘m actually a bit of a pessimist so I have yet to fully embrace this positive side. With Zhenya skating I nearly always get a heart attack when she‘s going for her jumps and spins nowadays too. :laugh: And this way she has more time to heal her back too and get more training time. She also got to relax a bit at home and meet friends and family. It‘s overall probably been a blessing in disguise for her. But I still can‘t help but miss her. :biggrin:

Does anyone know when the cup of russia is since zhenya will most likely be competing there? Also will the tutberidze juniors be competing there, i know they did last year...

Btw, am I the only one who's irritated at NBC sports for being the only one to write Zhenya's name as Yevgenia? Come on, there's an official spelling, you're the only one not to use it!
