I'll never forget the young Spanish kid I saw at Europeans 11 years ago. He had charisma in spades, some good raw technique, and endless potential. He was destined to be that somewhat obscure skater who was a consistent top 10 at Euros, maybe even Worlds, but would never get his due respect because of his country of origin. I never could have imagined he'd achieve the impossible dream of 2 world championships and an Olympic medal. It's been an amazing ride and while I'll miss him terribly I'm glad that kid went on to achieve so much more than I ever could have dreamed. Thank you, Javi.
