Alina Zagitova

I love Alina's and Sofia's interactions, they are so friendly one towards the other, always joking and laughing together. At the victory ceremony, the way Sofia hugged and looked at Alina showed so much respect from her, I was speechless. Sofia is a nice girl, she deserved this win because she was the best skater yesterday!

How Alina herself said...hoping that for her the best is yet to come!

Yes both are getting along and Sofia was asking advices from Alina during the ceremony. How cute

Silver is still a great accomplishment. She should be proud and most importanly, look at all the love from fans, showering her with gifts, shouting her name and fighting for some attention from her - she deserved it, even with this championships.

I watched the free skate and I was scared the whole time, although I already knew the result. She looked unstable, even at the spins that are usually concrete stable. I think it's about the 'will she defend her title' fuss, going on and on since the GPF and RusNats. Last year and this year are 365 days apart and there are many things that happened for this period of time. She matured, physically and mentally, mentally maturing means also having inner struggles and doubts, she has to go through it somehow. Don't write her off yet. I believe in Alina Zagitova and whoever hopes that she retires soon, must rethink his own life philosophy.

come on, guys
she is hockey coach's daughter, when his team (at that moment 'Izhstal") lost 3 matches of 4, Alina sent sms to father:
"Dad, why are you losing to everyone? ream them out!" (i.e. scold them)

I think some people are projecting on Alina what they themselves would do in her situation.

That's why Alina won an Olympic Gold Medal and we haven't. Elite athletes have a different mindset.

And think about it, even with her struggles this season, she has won Gold, Gold, Gold, Silver, Silver this season.

That has to give her some comfort. I'm sure she'd rather be hitting clean performances, but you know what I mean.

So true. There’s something wrong with the coaching and they have to fix it of course if they care about Alina more about themselves.
During the kiss and cry Alina felt her fan cheering for her, I’m glad she didn’t cry.
I’m also happy for Sofia, Mishin is like a father and if things getting worse for Alina why not.

If things get worse for Alina why not what?

Putting it in the proper perspective. Thanks we needed that.

I will leave here the part from Sofia's interview where she speaks about Alina:

In general, Alina and I had a good conversation. We sat after the performance, took pictures with her red teddy bear, watched the film “It” - a horror film, in order to quickly forget about everything. Yes, I still have not realized that I have a gold medal.

Is there a feeling that it is "inappropriate" to beat Zagitova? Yes, that feeling comes. She is an Olympic champion, and I am only in the first senior season.

I love this girl and she seems so genuine. Happy to see them both getting along so well. Yesterday, before going to sleep, I was thinking about Alina and wondering how was she feeling? Was she sad? But knowing that she stayed with Sofia and watched movies together makes me feel a little better

Edited to add, papa's Mishin nice words about Alina:

Sonya won the championship, but did not surpass Alina Zagitova , who has the title of Olympic champion, and who masterfully owns the elements.

Papa Mishin is an experienced and intelligent coach. With a single sentence he manages to talk high about his student's competitors, and also to erase some of the pressure that can be added on Sofia's shoulders. Very kind and smart.

What they say-skaters, coaches, politicians in the interviews, and what really happens in the backstage are most of the time 2 completely different stories.
The evidence is her practice session the day before the competition:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-UN55vDWg8

And how do you know what really happens? All I am getting is that no matter what good things the skater may say, because you don't like Eteri you will make up your own view of this and disregard the skater's words. Just because one culture/person may have a harsher way to train does not mean it's not working. Alina is under immense pressure this season, a variety of factors could have caused this bad skate, and yet she is still Silver. And even if she was not even on podium it wouldn't matter coz her season Is successful. Which olympic champion can say this much about their post olympic season and from how many years ago??

And lets not forget that last few seasons no top skater had the 3A extra, this season 2 of them does, which adds a huge competition on top of Alina's already huge burden. And she herself has made comments about not being able to come up with a 3A or quad next competition, so she is aware of her points disadvantage. Just because those two weren't at this competition doesn't mean she didn't think of them, and even if she didn't, I am saying to point out how many things can be going through her mind and can affect her other than the constant diatribe of evil Eteri and abusive coaching team.

There is no need to talk of breaking a skaters spirit by her own team and give evidence by putting your own spin on practise videos. We have also seen videos were Alina is clearly happy and joking around. I'm glad Alina is not around on social media anymore to read such toxic comments in her own fanfest anymore (or so I hope she isnt sneaking a few peaks on social media).

I love it when skaters get along and have fun together. They're the same age, so it's great that they hit it off with each other!

As I said I really appreciate Alina for what is doing this season, She is working very hard and is fully committed to figure skating.
The fact that she is struggling it is obvious and the only reason that I find it is that the training methods are not appropriate for her at this moment of time, especially from a mental point of view. My comments have nothing to do with the fact that I like or not Eteri. As a matter of fact I do not care for Eteri. As I said, i was disspointed by Daniil. Probably he wants to help Alina though (although my opinion is that the harsh way it is not the right approach for her right now).
I do not know why I have to give so many explanations about my comments. At the end of the day, these are my opinions, I can express them freely as you also do.

Why was she wearing Stasia’s jacket?

Could very well Samodurova and Zagitova were roomed together in the athletes hotel, but that leaves Konstantinova alone ...
