Arakawa says she still has plenty to achieve

wow... i like her lighter hair... so looks so pretty there.

I must say i am really surprised that she is continuing as a pro skater in the long term. I always thought she wouls be a michelle kwan type and go to college and become a buissness woman or somthing.

I believe that she has already graduated from university.

Arakawa stands out in her professional career for her academic achievements as well. Arakawa graduated with a Bachelor's degree in social sciences from the prestigious Waseda University in Tokyo in 2004, while still competing in prominent competitions. She had won her world championship title in 2004, days after completing her graduation examinations at Waseda.

Just before the 2004 Worlds, Arakawa finished writing her graduation thesis titled "Study on mass media and sports". I heard her college mates didn't know she's a competitive skater. She studied at Waseda University like other students, and also worked part-time at some restaurant and convenience stores. She says she hated to be one who can nothing but skating.

thanks for sharing. I'm sure she does...sounds like she's become quite the icon over in Japan.

Thanks for posting that, not sure I like the color of hair on her as much as the natural black. Hot in glasses though, yummy!

I hope she takes over the Nippon Fed, after 10 more years of giving us fans her awesome skating:agree: - oh and more glamour shots!

Someone at FSU said she worked part-time at Subway.

Maybe she needs to join Kimmie in the endorsements- she could serve up the sandwich to Kimmie :P. I'm trying to imagine Arakawa with plastic gloves and a hairnet....

She'd probably rock the glove and hairnet look. All this article does is make me like her even more.
Go, Shiz!
xoxo

Really, Joe, do you see Sasha eating at Subway? :p

Kimmie is already a Subway spokeswoman.

Commercial

Kimmie as daily customer: Gimme more meat.

Shiz (behind counter): No! Americans eat too much meat. Have some fish!

Kimmie: Look, lady - I'm the World Gold Medalist in figure skating.

Shiz: I'm the Olympic Gold Medalist! Olympics trump Worlds!

Smiling Subway nerd: At Subway you get all the meat and all the fish you want. All our Subs are pure Gold!
