2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

I think they were being sarcastic, which I find uncalled for because it was a legit question. I honestly thought no spots for Worlds were set yet.

My reply was about the first sentence, which is not a question. About your question, as far as I know worlds spots are not set yet. Some other more knowledgeable member can confirm or dis-confirm.

I just figured out that for everyone that wanted an Evgenia + Sima reunion, this is it!

Ahhhhh!!!!!!!! Are you kidding ? Both competed 6 times this saison + japan open for Alina and she competed 10 times last year when Sofia still in junior competed 4 times. Alina had enough competitions, she has nothing to prove.

Obviously it was a sarcasm. Is my sarcasm so bad? It's the third time in a row it happen to me

pheew!! I'm so glad its only a boot problem!!

Yeah, but the moment is unfortunate. One would expect skaters and/or their trainers having a little foresight and start choosing/fitting/breaking in new boots before an international assignment.
Abstaining from a start because of this will do your reputation no good and it might have been Tarakanova's final pre-assigned competition of the season where some ISU ranking points or a small amount of price money could be earned.
After Russian Cup, some other skaters that did well will need to be rewarded by FFKKR with a start in some reputable competition abroad and Anastasiya might loose out (again?)

I really like her as a skater but her management should be more alert and not screw up her chances like this.

I was fearing worse. I thiught she maybe lost motivation again or got injured. So that's why I'm glad now! :D

Yeah, perhaps she'd gotten her new boots fitted in time but she found something was not in order after a few skates and the adjustments took more time?

Abstaining from a start is probably better than falling all over the ice and coming up with excuses afterwards.
Still, a pity and a chance missed to see this exciting power skater in action.

I hope she keeps her FS program next season. It’s one of my favorite programs in a very long time.

Have Russian ladies been selected for World?

The Russian Cup final will be Thursday and Friday. The schedule has been posted in here already, I think. Tuktamysheva, Medvedeva and Konstantinova will participate in it and afterwards the Worlds team will be named based on the result of the final and the European Championships. Considering that Samodurova won there, her spot should be secure. Alina got second but I think unless something truly dramatic happens, she should have a spot as well, considering the rest of her season. So, it‘s basically the last spot that will be decided. Or that‘s how I see the situation. We‘ll have to wait for Thursday and Friday, though, to see how the situation unfolds.

Yes, and most of the pressure is on Medvyedeva, the only uncertain entity since she now trains in Canada. She will have to prove her readiness and competitive spirit the most I think.
Thursday and Friday have the arena sold out, so there will be huge support for the girls and women and no doubt emotions will run high both on and off the ice.

Agree with your comment but not with the pressure distribution. The highest pressure is on Liza who has been promised the spot but is not ready yet. Stanislava is on pressure as well, since she is the one who is losing the actual spot. Evgenia has nothing to lose. It will be the first time this season that she has nothing to lose and that's why I think she will do better than the others.
