no mention of skating really... she writes about her new movie apperance... in Bratz. i didn't know they were making a movie. assume it's gonna be a cartoon... so sasha will just be doing a voice. I wanted to hear her talk about nationals.. i assume she didn't go just to watch otherwise the camera would have always been on her. I wanted her opnion on not skating there. I hope she writes again soon. I hate it when she neglects it.

Sounds like she really is serious about the acting. I had to laugh about the part where she says Bratz are good roll models (or words to that effect.) I think those doll look so slutty...

The filming of my part in “Bratz: The Movie” was completed last month. The film is scheduled to open in August. I play the part of the head cheerleader. It’s another great opportunity for me to build my resume and continue working toward bigger movies. I am also pleased to be involved with this movie because Bratz is branded to encourage young girls to follow their dreams. I believe in that and it has been my philosophy throughout my life.

I understand the necessariy for her to do these sorts of movies to build up resume. But this is just too funny, Sasha! "Bratz is branded to encourage young girls to follow their dreams. I believe in that and it has been my philosophy throughout my life"

I see there is a character named Sasha, too -- played by Logan Browning. The cast "in alphabetical order?")

Bratz. More pop culture I've never heard of.

I continue to get left behind. :frown:

Maybe her 5 second clip was cut out in the last minute. Poor Sasha.

IIRC, it was a long time before IMDB added Nicole Bobek to the cast list for her 5 seconds in "All the King's Men", so maybe Sasha's name hasn't been added yet.

Bratz. Way to committ career suicide. Does she think anyone is going to take her seriously after that? I know she's desperate right now to just get herself out there, but there has to be something better than Bratz. Maybe I'm wrong and the movie will be nothing like the dolls, but I can't imagine that anyone would think that a Bratz movie could advance their career. Will Hollywood ever see her as a mature, serious actress after something like this?

My initial reaction was to agree completely with you, but upon more relection I have to admit ... who the heck knows what people like anymore. I find myself constantly bewildered by what shows people watch on TV, and what stories in the news fascinate them. I sometimes feel like I'm on on different planet!
Who knows what will come of this. Sasha is a lovely young lady, and she certainly has been able to get her foot in the door through her skating career. Let's see if she is able to take it from there. Lots of luck involved too. You can have the right look and make all the right moves, and still end up nowhere. It's a rough business.

You should be proud of your pop culture ignorance of these dolls.;)

I find them shockingly bizarre, but mostly useless, and I wish I knew nothing of them. They're just weird & trampy looking!

You guys are soo funny... they're just modern barbies... no biggie...

As for Sasha & taking this role... let's be very clear - in Hollywood the best way to become an actress is to get acting jobs... Remember Hilary Swank in the Karate Kid 4 or George Clooney on the Facts of Life... one gig leads to another gig... Here's wishing good luck to Sasha as she follows her next set of dreams...

i agreew ith most of you in that this isn't exactly a good carrer move. if she wants to be takeni seriously as an actress, she shoudl be doing better roles. Even if she wanted to do a voice... pick somthing better. The movie is not going to be big, and i agree that the Bratz are like a modern sluttier version of barbie. I hope that it dosen't damage her carrer. i guess she is only doing it for the money...

The bottom line is you need credits on your resume. When you're starting out, you take whatever work you can get, regardless of how small the part. Sasha is known as a figure skater, not an actress, and she is not an Olympic champion, as Tara was. So she gets smaller buzz and the roles she gets aren't going to be on screen for more than a few seconds.

Sasha may or may not make it as an actress. But if she puts her skating on the back burner for long periods, she may not be able to come back to a competitive skating career. I think she will be able to skate in shows as long as she wants to, though.

you have to get your foot in teh door... her silver medal got her to hollywood... but now she has to start at the bottom rung like everything else

she's marketed - still - to the tweens ... her Got Milk ad is geared not to the everywoman like Kristi or the mom like Katia... but the tweener girls...

Bratz is extremely popular... it's better than a lot of roles she might have gotten... it's not oscar worthy but I don't think there's an oscar winner out there who just jumped into it with an amazing role. They all had bit parts in movies...
