Evgenia Medvedeva

Are we sure that it got called UR? We'll know soon with the protocols. But if it was, it's incredibly unfair considering some unnamed skaters didn't get dinged for their UR.

It was called. The commentators I watched said it was logged in as UR by the Technical Panel

I watched the whole short program live and Zhenya was such a highlight!!
I want to personally hug Misha for this SP, it suits her so so well and you could see she was confident performing it :D

I am so relieved and happy for her! She can go into the free in the final group with hopefully a lot of confidence now and just give it her all :luv17:

I'm no tech specialist, but I didn't think the toe looked UR either, will have to go back and look at it again. if it was under, it must have been right on the edge, I reckon

Also loved the jump analysis, was so interesting to see the 2A stats - it really is so long now, really up there with the best of them :yahoo:

Honestly, if you watch it closely, the flip looks like it's a bit under, not the toe.

Which doesn’t make sense. If you watched the others, there were so many uncalled URs and wrong edges! I don’t understand why they suddenly became so strict.

I liked it too! When I saw 3m+ for Kaori I was like :eeking:

I'm so proud of her, I almost cried! A shame it wasn't enough for 3rd, but I'm happy regardless! She had a wonderful clean skate and still has a chance to hit for podium in the FP. But even if not, the most important thing I wish for her is to deliver another clean program.

I hate it when judges are inconsistent with their calls. Either call on everyone or no one.

True. I mean people are always calling out Evgenia for her lutz, but I didn’t really see any one with a real deep outside edge earlier, particularly in the final group. Happy to take another look if I’m wrong.

In any event, Evgenia’s in a great position for the Free Program. Let’s close this season with a Bang!!!!

Ugh, it would have been 77. But I am soo glad she managed to cope with her nerves, though it was obvious how nervous she was. Well done, Zhenya, very-very well done.

At least she is in a good position for the free. She got a new seasons best for short program. I'm so sad because she should have got a small medal for that. And there were other underrotations not called.

Guys I am so mad!!!!! I wanted a small medal for her so bad. She potentially lost 3ish points for that UR call. And even Jackie said it looked a bit tight but looks like she made it. And there were uncalled rotations for other people that were worse.

Anyway, during her first Worlds Evgenia was also fourth after SP. And of course I am not talking about winning here, but I hope she would be able to let go and perform her tango confidently and with pleasure.
