I have to say I like the exoticness of James and Cipres. But watching them skate they really are not equal skaters. and moreover they seemed to be overmarked here a bit. I understand they were the faves and this has been a "weak" year. I say that because well not all years can be strong and I think this year pairs really hasn't be superhigh levelwith Sui and Han injured and T and M really not o the calibre of say G and G or B and S. They are more of a Shishkova and Naumov type of team good , reall good but not amazing at least not yet. The marks were a little generous I thought for the French. I did like B and K - nice elements at the very least. USA got two; I think Germany is down to one or most likely will be down to one unless one of the remaining teams really really falter.

I guess P/J lost some levels. I only saw fours for Z/E (though I was a bit distracted).

Zabiyako/Enbert aren't really my cup of tea, but full credit to them -- you'd never know they missed a bunch of training time due to injury.

I will, however, protest if they get put ahead of Peng/Jin because the latter got lowballed in both programs.

Well they've had a tough year, so it's great to see Natalia and Alexander in such good spirits after their program!

Still very odd music...

Does their coach remind anyone else of Alexei Urmanov? I know it's not him, but I see a resemblance there.
