Just dropping in to say Evgenia made it happen! I'm so proud of her and how she fought through the pain and uncertainty to grab this victory for herself.
 
She’s the first to break the “Eteri Curse”! Well done Evgenia after a rocky season!! That fist pump and yell she gave truly is inspiring.
 
Yes! Zhenya! Came back to medal at the worlds! After such a roller coaster season to come out on the rise at the end. All that training and recreating and growing paying off! Onto the next challenge! PS- anyone else love her “warrior face” in the FS, especially at the end?

I chickened out and left the room when she was skating. I came back in the room just as she did the roar. Well I knew than that she nailed it. :laugh:

Elizabet did not complete one of her combos so she lost points there. She only did 2 combos instead of 3. Lilibet was only ard 1.5 pts ahead of Evgenia after SP & Evgenia was ahead of Lilibet 0.77 pts in LP.

End result : Lilibet won the silver by 0.96 pts.
I also know Evgenia is only 0.49 pts ahead of Rika but Rika was 7th after SP, a good 3.33 pts behind Evgenia.

Lilibet looked worried/concerned cos she herself made a mistake despite her landing the 4S. So Lilibet didnt know whether the 4S pts was enough to make up for her combo mistake.
So her coaching team's concern would have been - Is it enough to get 2nd?
 
OMG I'm watching Evgenia's Olympic free skate from the NBC Sports feed without commentary and they didn't do a slow-mo recap of her skate after she finished which let the viewer see the skater watch their effort in the K&C. I didn't realize how much our girl was crying, she had tears streaming down her face. She's grown so much since then and overcome numerous odds.

tried watching this when it was uploaded yesterday and just couldn’t do it. too hard watching her in that much pain. i never want to see her that shattered again. today she went out and proved every single person wrong that said she was done and she’s grown and changed so much from then. i’m so proud.

Can I just say, Zhenya's loop is really robbed of the universal +5 GOE it deserves and the 3s3lo is robbed of the +4s & +5s it deserves
