now that 2010 is coming up in the next two years, i think it's safe to make predictions cuz spontaneous improvements won't happen cuz of the CoP system. it enforces it, but so far, no one is making it happen.

Kawaguchi and Smernov did absolutely nothing for me. I don't know what is going on with her bouncing around countries, yadda yadda - a friend watching suggested that Kawaguchi "...might be one of those rich kids with a dream and some talent that her parents can afford to buy spots and coaches." eesh, that is not a good first impression. Kinda harsh, but I had to ponder the bizarre thought for a moment because I could not see anything promising there, then the talk of her hopping countries - at least I could see where his thought may have come from, but I highly doubt it. Only seen one programme, so I am not Judging, just wondering and hoping it was not a great night. I think she bumped his boot as much as Miki's choreography had her touching her face.;) I certainly HOPE they get better and find some form of "chemistry," but they seem mix-matched technically (what do I know really though?) and not "sellable" from the marketing stand point. I don't think they even look that good together. - I hate to sound so negative, but I can't imagine I am the only one "wondering..."

If she lost the skirt and he didn't have that "rope belt" those outfits would have been much more attractive IMO, but not much to start with in the first place. I saw someone (maybe Julia Sab) with a similar and no skirt a while back. I liked the look solo but not really for pairs.

Oh I went with Dube and Davison. I would Love it. But hope some American team can get it going on to get up on there. I don't believe Rena and John will be there by their own choice.

.

My first impression of this pair at CoR was great, but the more I watched them, the less I like them. It's going to be a mistake if their coach really wants to make a new B&S out of this couple. I can't stand the way she gapes her mouth all the time, the way she showcases her extreme flexbility is also quite scary.

Why are Shen/Zhou not even an option? Granted I know there might be a good chance they dont compete at the 2010 Olympics, in fact in some opinions they might be certain they wont. Still are they any less likely to then Inoue/Baldwin? I would Inoue/Baldwin are just as unlikely to even be at the 2010 Olympics as Shen/Zhou, maybe more. Also Inoue/Baldwin are a crazy poll choice anyway, they are certainly not up and comers and have never won a world medal, whoever voted for them I just dont get how you come to that.
