Alena Kostornaia

Me too. I hope SkAm gets Alena and Anna!

Well we will find out in less than a month! Actually we will have 2 important events to look forward to in June - ISU meeting after which they will announce GP assignments and DOI the last weekend of June.

Hopefully we will get some more Alena news, pictures and videos in the meantime to tide us over! Last year Daniil posted a little preview of everyone’s programs from the Novogorsk camp so hoping he will do something similar again.

Yes, and Novogorsk camp starts in June, so I think we might be able to expect some Alena content with all of Team Tutberidze together, especially since they seem to be increasing their social media presence over the last year! I think Daniil knows how much the fans crave content :). So much to look forward too. Maybe Alena will even debut a new program at DOI, or at least the new sp version of the Twilight routine!

Her hair has gotten sooo long! And it looks like it got bleached by the sun!

Yes! Lots of new photos from Alena on vacation having fun in the sun ☀️ She posted another Instagram update

I wish she would continue to update us on a regular basis but understand her focus is more on skating and school, not social media.

Training camp should be starting soon - maybe even tomorrow! I wonder which program they will put together first. Maybe the LP because it will take more time?

Does full force mean learning a triple axel?

I hope so! But only if she’s 100% healthy. Being able to debut without a 3A is better than not being able to debut at all due to injury. I think it will also depend on how much she has grown/if she is still growing. It will be much easier to restore once her height becomes stable so she isn’t constantly re-adjusting. Liza was able to restore hers so I have no doubt that as long as Alena is healthy and wants to do the 3A, she will be able to get it back. The key is health, of course.

Alena's 2A is one of the best of all current ladies, so I have no doubt she will master it sooner or later. She has the ability to do a Midori Ito type of 3A

Alena with soccer/football players and their coach. All 3A plus Kanysheva took photos with the team. Using the coach as a measuring stick, we can see that Alena is still the shortest. The others all exceed his shoulders while Alena doesn’t quite get there 😂

It’s so funny that she’s the shortest off the ice but on the ice has such a large presence.

Yes huge presence on ice while being short. My guess is Alena is between 4'11" and 4'11.5" tall. While Sasha and Anna are a little over 5' tall. Only Anna among the 3 will reach Alina's height.

I would okay if Alena waited until next summer to learn a triple axel. Her great skating will speak for itself her debut season.

I agree. Also with her coming back from the injury, I would hate for her to get injured again. But you never know, Eteri and her team are known to push skaters.

I'd be more afraid of Alena pushing herself. She has said that earlier this year she wanted to work on the triple axel but her coaches wouldn't let her because she had comp coming up, and then when she was coming back from her injury she was jumping behind her coaches back, probably because she missed it so much. It must be so hard not to train these harder jumps when everyone else is training them, but we'll see what happens. Hopefully one way or the other she remains uninjured.
