Nathan Chen

According to reports Nathan was the last to appear in the opening and then was the "lead" for the choreography, similar to Virtue and Moir last year. He wore his black Nemesis outfit and did his 540 kick.

Sounds like he hardly communicates with Raf when he’s at Yale - mostly if there’s some kind of issue.

He hasn’t met Jeremy Lin - but he did see him from afar in Colorado :)

Someone had said that their friend saw Nathan on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.

He said that he went to Ueno, which is one of the stops on that line.

I don't know. I took that to mean he doesn’t communicate much with Raf right now (during the off season). I’m guessing that in season they communicate more, but I could be wrong.

Jack phrased the question that Raf is California and Nathan is usually in Connecticut - so do they communicate like a couple of times a week?

Regarding the interview, it was really interesting to hear how much time Nathan really does spend communicating with Raf while at Yale (Answer: not very much).

This is what I’ve been suspecting. Raf talked about how limited communication they had in that NBC interview right before SkAm. He was rather worried at that time. He also said something like he would Nathan to spend his valuable time on studying in another interview which I don’t remember when and which media.

Some questions made me scratch my head, but it is not a bad interview. The biggest thing for me is to know that he knows health is most important and he knows how to deal with his body and not get injured. He also clarified the “mystery” about his injury in 2016. He seemed really learn good lesson from it.

I am glad Jack didn’t ask him about his school plans.

The interpreter lady seems really impressed by Nathan. She really enjoyed his Ikebo , but in the meantime she was “tortured” by how fast he talked ;). Nathan didn’t sound quite awake to me in the interview ;)

I feel like there are more interesting questions that could have been asked other than yet again being asked about skating after the Pooh bears and Olympic disappointment/learning experience.

Though Jack did ask him about who manages his finances and if he’s more popular in Japan than the US - haven’t heard him being asked those before.

It seemed that so many of the questions were in regards to others: Yuzu, Shoma/Eteri, Daisuke, Vincent, relationships with past US champions, Benoit Richaud, Rui Hachimura, Jeremy Lin.
