When I learned the subject "Basics of life safety" in school (many years ago) we have been learned how to survive if you are suddenly become in deep forest, taiga, unhabitant island, desert, etc. So it was a sort of lessons of survive.
Also we learned few simple examples (we had a practice with teacher and classmates) how to keep your life if some criminal want to strike you with a fist or some item. It was a basics of self-defense.
But I believe Alyona will not ever be in such situations, so that "4" grade doesn't matter for her.
 
we all studied different things under the same name, there is nothing surprising that Alёna received for this not the highest ball. :laugh:

Are foreign languages also a subject that is mandatory in Russia ? I am always curious what type of languages and if languages are part of the curriculum of other countries as e.g. in Germany we have to learn 2 foreign languages from grade 1-9 and then a 3rd foreign language from grade 10-12. Some schools even teach 4 foreign languages.

Alena seems like a smart cookie :) as she wants to become a doctor one day I am not surprised that she ended grade 9 with excellen grades.

She does seem like a smart cookie! :yes: She has to be clever, because otherwise she wouldn't be such a good troublemaker/hooligan! :rofl:

I'm not sure about languages being mandatory or not, but Alёna is apparently studying English and French (and I saw somewhere that she was also learning German, but I don't think that part is right.)

I was a little worried because Alёna hadn't posted any photos recently (what, no picture with Shoma?!)--but it looks like she must be in good shape if she's even wearing high heels. :agree:

I wonder which programs she'll do in Dreams on Ice--maybe the Angel SP and the new version of her Vampire SP?
 
Should Alena be done wit the 10th grade instead of the 9th grade? Isn't she 16 or about to turn 16?

I believe the Russian system is different - they graduate high school after grade 11. It seemed like other skaters born in 2003 also finished grade 9 - Polina K, fellow team Tutberidze member Artem F, so I think she is on track for her age. I believe Anna and Sasha just finished grade 8.

In Russia the basic school education is 9 grades. Then you have to choose your path to the future life: if you want to have a working profession, then you may go to the college (medium professional education); if you want to go to the high school (institute or university, high professional education), then you have to continue your education in 10th and 11th grades of the school.

Alyona is 15 at the moment, her birthdate is 24th August 2003.

I think she was too busy with the school exams, that is why she had a restricted time on the ice rink.

I’ve seen conflicting reports on Twitter whether Alena did her twilight program with 2 jumps or 3, but from pictures it looks like she’s still using the cape so I think she’s skating the exhibition version we saw in April. Looking forward to the video on Sunday!

I heard she jumped 2A, 3S cleanly but fell on 3F...

I hope she gets a new costume for the SP. The one she has now does look like an exhibition one even without the cape.

Oh my, first I've started to write that post here, than I realized that I'm in a wrong thread, so I've canceled it but then I still wrote and post it here without changing a threrad. I'm really getting old.:palmf:
 
So glad to see that Alena is recovering nicely. Her jumps seem much more secure and confident than at the show in April and it looked like she was skating with a lot of speed out there. I’m still not 100% sold on how this exhibition will transform into a SP but I will wait to pass final judgement until we see it in September. I’m sure if it’s not working out before then they will change it.
