New Caroline Zhang Video

Nice, How did she get all the energy to finish off like that. Impressive little encore, must still have that backpack full of candy people were mentioning.:agree: The illusion spin was so powerful and fit the beat nicely.:bow:

She can knock at least two off the podium, Czisney and Hughes. She still needs a triple+triple to compete against big guns though. Lots of people criticize her jumps, but I found she really has a cat's feet. Her jump landings are very secure.

Indeed her jumps have improved since I first saw her in St. Louis. Betcha a cookie she does a 3x3 in this coming Nats.

Wow, what an entertainer. She's like a child star from the 30s - Shirley Temple with bun and skates instead of curls and taps.

Not to mention that her moves had me gasping. Those illusion spins - wowza.
 
She looks charming in a real dress!

She has some growing up to do, she's much rougher around the edges style-wise than Zhang, but what gorgeous jumps and Ina Bauer. Her spiral will be beautiful too. She's just so appealing. Much less self-consciously selling herself than Zhang. But they're both irresistible.

Yes, she does seem a combination of Sasha and Michelle. I think she is more Sasha than Michelle. How special she is. I think she will beat them all come Nationals. Maybe even Kimmie.

But - uh - which one are you talking about? I'm referring to Caroline. But I'm not sure Mirai couldn't beat Kimmie too. Maybe not just yet though.

- they are both so good, yet I am wondering why only one smile and the serious tone to Mirai's? The song was up beat and conveyed happy, yet her face seemed oh so serious during - just one smile I saw during. Connection with audience seems less than in others. Maturity? Great jumps n spins WOAD (with out a doubt;) ), and I really liked the costume. Lose a few sequins in the yellow, but it was nice.:agree:

i agree about caroline's jumps. they look so easy for her she should be doing triple triples in no time.

also.. thanks for mari's video. she looks so much taller than caroline... does naybody know thier heights?

She's actually shorter than Caroline. She has a slender body build which bodes well for her future. Mirai is pretty much a Mao/Yu-Na Kim in the making. I am not so certain about Caroline Zhang. She seems to have bigger hip, so who knows how puberty monster will impact her skating. She may become another NNN, or she may grow as slender as her sister whom you could see in that video clip.

W/P - A nice looking couple. Hope they stay together.

Ashley looking very competitive. She may squeeze into the Worlds if Emily, Asyssa or Bebe falter.

N/C - Need a polishing up coach.

Mc/B - He does not have the typical male figure skater body type, but he's strong as an ox. She needs quite a bit of polishing. They are good though. I think we get 2 teams for Worlds. They might make it.
