2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Just checked the results, couldn‘t watch it live. Well done to Kamila. But what happened to Maiia? :(

Terrific job by Kamila - great recovery. One fall on the 3F, but nothing major. Room to grow and already breaking 200! Can’t wait to see where she is at the end of the season.

To be honest, I didn't see it at the test skates, but I think I like Kamila's free program way better than her short program.
Anyway too bad for the flip, but well done on the quad. It was huge! :)
Overall I really liked her, her flexibility is incredible and her spins are a joy to watch.

So sorry for Maya... Clearly, it wasn't her day, it's so sad she's risking of not getting another jgp assignment.

So happy for Kamila! I honestly wasn’t expecting her to land the quad here, I figured it probably happen at her second event or maybe the final. Looks like nerves aren’t a big issue 😉
Very disappointing for Maiia though, and she’s done so well in the short. Wishing her better luck in the future.

Was it unexpected though? Maya's free skate at the test skates was also a bit of a disaster, Daniil admitted she came later also because of an injury, they couldn't work on new programs.

Now we'll see if she gets the second spot, it works on her favor the fact that the two strongest skaters from Panova are competing at the same event where they also have to deal with Alysa Liu. (i'd argue Sinitsyna and Tarakanova should have deserved separate events)

What other girl will rise to the podium holding back sad tears ... My heart is sad with Maya.
Congratulations to Camille. Wonderful quad, great program.

2 falls and a bad landing

Oh no. Poor girl. Bronze isn‘t bad at all but considering that it‘s the Russian ladies.. does this mean she won‘t get a second assignment? So sad. She‘s had problems with her FS at test skates too...

I’ve noticed that I dislike the test version, but in competitions with costumes and proper vibes Daniil’s programs grow on me and I watch them over and over again.

It depends on the other.

More than the bronze i think the SB could be key, 179 points is a little lower than the average russian girl (who usually scores around 185-190)

But maybe in economics term is better for their team

Now off to bed, cheering for the boys tomorrow, doing some shopping and then the banquet and gala.

What will the girls present to us, what has Gleikhengauz prepared for them?

Congrats to Kamilla! Her jumps are so huge and effortless, I'm amazed. The program leaves me a bit cold, but it's likely to grow on me with time. Lovely, lovely skate either way!

Feel awful for Maya, of course. Seeing these kids so heartbroken after a bad performance is the worst. I think she still has a decent chance at a second JGP spot, depending on how the others do.

Decanters as prizes for juniors, seriously? :)

Yeah, seem pretty useless, where they even engraved? 3rd place decanter without a stopper ....

Some iPods or an iWatch would be nicer gifts, but I assume most skaters already got these, Kamila proudly showed her iPods she got for her 13th birthday, or was it Maya ???

Why did they cut off the stream right at the interview? :drama:
