Maybe she had a visa with strict terms/dates of arrival and departure, aka not multiple-entry one.

That seems likely. I never managed to get a multiple entry visa for Russia, despite an invitation from the Moscow branch of my then employer.

Yesterday, in their interview by Emma Ghadzhiyeva, the pair skaters Pavlyuchenko/Khodikyn said they were still waiting for their US visas.

I just hope that all the seniors assigned to skate at Skate America take good note of this and make sure their documents are fixed way in advance! Stasya should be fine because she just was in the US but then again, we thought the same of Kseniia. But I‘d be mad if Anna missed her senior debut or Liza wouldn‘t be able to skate. This makes me anxious. No more visa problems please... Silver lining is.. at least Kseniia‘s not injured.

This is a harsh statement. As much as I like Kanysheva, Sinitsyna was the second best junior lady at test skates. It’s not her fault that there are problems with her visa. She actually went to the US to train this off-season, didn‘t she? I wonder why problems occur now and didn‘t back then... On the one hand, it makes it easier for Tarakanova to get to the final now since she‘ll finish with silver at worst but it’s such a shame for Kseniia. Poor girl. I do hope she‘s not done and rusfed recognizes her talent. She deserves a JGP spot. Everything else would be unfair. She didn‘t even have a chance to prove herself internationally yet this season.

Not Ksenia herself because she is a minor but the adults in her life. Her parents, Coach, the Fed for not checking and checking again. I don’t understand how you can just get to the airport and they say no if you followed all the instructions you’re supposed to.

Any reason or no reason at all. You have to turn yourself inside out for a visa application, and supply many details which are a serious privacy intrusion (at least in my view).
Minors travelling without a parent require probably many more documents meticulously filled out?
So if immigration officials find you don't have a this form filled out, credit card, social security card, insurance card or whatever on you or with the wrong number/expiration data, you will be denied entry into the airplane already while in Moscow?

The official statement doesn't specify it's a visa issue, just "document". Could be something else is missing, like a correctly filled out and not expired parents release form or something of that sort. Happened to Alina last year. A real shame either way...

I think Mathlike's reasoning is quite valid for not wasting a likely 3rd place finish with a tally that might not be good enough for JGPF. Maya Khromykh carries 11 points but might still loose the draw for entry into JGPF because of her total score.

I heard that it's really hard to get an US visa in Russian, waiting time is several moths, sometimes even a year.

It took my family 15 months.

With those waiting periods, you can never plan in advance.

Stanislava Konstantinova best thoroughly check her visa and documents to make certain she can return to the US for her event. She is a legal adult and responsible for her own documents now.

What was lost year's cutoff? 28 points? And who lost the draw based on total scores?

Thinking of Alysa Lyu as the only 'unbeatable' candidate that is best avoided, planning the strongest 'assault' for JGPF gives me a headache ;-)

They are most likely to sacrifice Khromykh and 3rd Russian girl from Chelyabinsk. Maiia's score is indeed low so unless Vasilieva/Tarusina get a very high score in Russia despite finishing 3rd, Sinitsyna is likely to get 2 events.

Most likely. Valiyeva is supposed to collect 15 points in Chelyabinsk, and both Tarusina and Vasil'yeva are completely blank as to scoring potential since they didn't participate in Test Skates and are still struggling with shape and recovery?
So a Kseniya Sinitsyna might collect 13 points at most in Chelyabinsk, but needs a win in another JGP to be safe.

Doesn't matter. US has practically denied visas to Russian tennis player Kuznetsova, Russian equestrian, yachting & freestyle wrestling teams so far, do you really think some junior skaters would be more lucky?

I’d pull Usacheva from Latvia and put Sinitsyna there. I believe Sinitsyna has a much better chance on there silver (or gold?) there and Usacheva is even more inconsistent then Khromykh, could be another repeat of France and wasted opportunity on points for the final.

Then pull one of Tarusina/Vasilieva from Russia and give it to Usacheva. Both girls much more consistent and experienced than Usacheva and placed higher than her at nationals, I see no reason to make them eat each other just because Usacheva is with Eteri.

Give the Davydov girl Poland.

Kanysheva’s 2nd spot which will likely be earned in Latvia and can be assigned.

Remaining 4 spots go to the top 5 finishes/scores among Tarakanova, Sinitsyna, Tarusina, Vasilieva, Usacheva, and Khromykh (Khromykh likely out).

I think everything can still be ok, just no spots for Frolova or anyone else (it was never going to happen anyway) and still too bad for Khromykh.

Tarakanova can go, though. As well as the other Russian juniors other than Sinitsyna and a pairs/ice dance (? sorry forgot) team. And Sinitsyna has actually been to the US just a few weeks before for training so it has to be something else missing in this case.

It might not be the child herself the immigration service is concerned about, but rather the adults in her company that might want to stay behind in the USA. Who knows has been denied entry too?
Anyway, it's a mess and a hassle for the athletes involved, and the political solution to the tension between USA and RF is still far from in sight

Thanks Makes sense. Khromykh and Usachyova are still only 13 and can have two more JGP seasons. Give their second chances to the 15 year olds.
17 y.o. Tarusina and Vasil'yeva are in their third and final JGP season and with all respect, do not play a significant part IMO, 15 y.o. Tarakanova in her second or third already? 14 y.o. Kanysheva in her second for sure.
Next year, only 2007 born Samodelkina is age legible, so there is still a part to play for Khromykh and Usachyova.

Since Tarusina was the only substitute listed and she didn‘t replace Sinitsyna does that mean she‘s still in recovery from her injury? I know she had issues with that injury she got back then from the accident but does anybody know something a bit more concrete? Is it serious or will she be back soon?
