What was the first figure skating program you watched ever?

Torvill and Dean's Bolero from the 84 Olympics was the very first. I saw it as a young kid in 1990. It's sort of a rite of passage for us Brits lol
But what really got me 100% into figure skating was watching Midori Ito's SP and LP at the 1990 Worlds.

I honestly cannot tell you what the first one I watched on TV was... I've been a fan of the sport since age 3 almost 4. I went to see Mickey Mouse and Friends on Ice in 1988 and saw Scott Hamilton skate to Georgia on my Mind and that was it. Fan for life.

Dorothy Hamill 1976. I was 7 wanted her hair cut. She was on commercials for short and sassy shampoo.

The first one I remember is Viktor Petrenko at the Winter Olympics (not saying which year...), although someone from an earlier group might have been the first one I actually saw. Not only was his program my first memory of figure skating, it's my earliest memory of anything. I was much, much younger than most people would even believe possible to remember.

So `88 then? ;) :p

The first skating show I ever saw was the Ice Capades somewhere around 1950. The featured star was so-o-o pretty.

It didn't know who she was, but in retrospect it must have been Barabara Ann Scott.

I can't say for sure what the 1st program I watched was but the first I remember was a Paul Wylie program in the early 90's. I don't know what program or competition it was, but my sister and I called him Wylie Smiley because of his large smile after his skate

I watched a lot live at the rink. But on TV it was either Winter by Yagudin or Love Story by Sale/Pelltier- whichever was first in Salt Lake

Isabelle and Paul Duchesnays, 1990 Worlds FD:

I saw them and I fell in love with both Isabelle & Paul and figure skating. Ice dance and pairs are my favourite categories and I'm extremely grateful to the Duchesnays for discovering figure skating for me.

I remember having seen something from Carol Heiss 1960 OG freeskate from a newsreel at movie theater. After that I saw some skating from TV at a friend´s home. My parents bought TV late 1963, so I have been watching figure skating regularly since 1964.

The first program I saw was Katarina Witt's Carmen, because she was a judge on a German Ice show during the early 2000s, which I watched without knowing anything about figure skating :D. And the next one that made me a figure skating fan was Yuna's short program in Vancouver in 2010.

I think it may have been this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7a7sSuPpmcc by Robin Cousins. Or maybe this one or one like it by Scott Hamilton: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0dNzBDdMYs. My memory is of them competing head-to-head in a competition & I'm sure Cousins had suspenders (this has to be the program he skated to); but I'm not finding any matching youtube videos with the same event & Robin's Satan Takes a Holiday program and Scott so I don't know what pro competition they were competing against each other in or exactly what year it was. I didn't have a concept of what a pro competition was back then. It was years before I realized this memory had to be of a professional event rather than an amateur one.

Grishuk/Platov's FD from the 1998 Olympics in Nagano. I remember that her dress really got my attention, and I couldn't ever forget it.

I'm unable to get youtube to work tonight so unsure which program of Scott's you're using, but I do recall Robin competing with Satan Takes A Holiday against Scott several times.
