2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

We can’t forget she had a major injury last year, so when comparing to her first performances post injury at the Champions on Ice tour I see huge improvements. I assume that priority 1 is to restore to the previous level of quality and consistency before working on any changes. And it’s clear they’ve done this because she has changed her lutz entrance and seems to be holding the outside edge better. Also her already good spins looked better, especially the flying camel and layback.

Hopefully they will have time to work on adding a 3A this season (if she is healthy) because her 2A definitely looks big enough to squeeze out another rotation.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I guess I didn't take into consideration that she was injured. It's really good news that she managed to improve her lutz edge, as we know it's very hard or even impossible. I will be looking forward to seeing how she'll develop. She may not have quads or stuff but the big GOEs and artistry are on her side.

I saw three landed quads in one program. 4Lz, 4T3T, 4T.
That one can compete with boys, but she's so shy she doesn't want to make them cry...

A pity Anna crashed her qlutz.

Grishin is right - Russian Nats in Krasnoyarsk will be best figure skating tourney in history. I'm speechless how great these ladies are. :dbana:

Im confused from Elizaveta choreo...its just mess. Otherwise girls are quite good and Annas dress thingy was awsome :)

If this were a competition, would be my positions:

TES (+GOE):
1. Trusova
2. Zagitova
3. Tuktamysheva
4.Kostornaia
5. Scherbakova
6. Konstantinova
7. Samodurova
8. Medvedeva

PCS:
1. Zagitova
2. Kostornaia
3. Scherbakova
4. Medvedeva
5. Trusova
6. Konstantinova
7. Samodurova
8. Tuktamysheva

What are your opinion?

She fully rotated though.

Also, Sasha falling on 3-3 and immediately laughing it off towards coaches was epic! :laugh2:

I wouldn't put Kostornaia's technical score above Shcherbakova. Alena had more errors in this one.

I was not a fan of Sasha and Liza's performance content, but the tech was impressive and performed excellently. No others can possibly match them (maybe Anna but I don't think so). At the moment, it looks like these two would be a lock for Worlds if they can keep up, and then the next spot is a choice between Anna/Alina(/Zhenya/Aliona...maybe wishful thinking).

I realy love Liza but her spins are not so good, and she has no choreography so she is not so lock for worlds

Test skates are too early to call anything so it's amusing trying to see posters do that. I don't believe any predictions from last year's test skates held.

Tukt's jumps are fantastic and that is about it. She is one of the most 1-dimensional skaters I have ever seen.

Sorry, the second 3-1-3 combo was OK. But her 3Lz3Lo looked like 3Lz3.5Lo. Did she try 4Lo somehow? Clearly ORed the 'loop. She may do quad.

Sasha's problem is in limited time for preparations (second problem after the Axel). As she may do solid combo only with 4T, to have maximum possible quad-only points she has to do two toe-loops and lutz. No flip, no 'loop, no more salchow from her.
If she could manage to prepare three quads her program automatically becomes unbeatable. Swapping 4T3T for 4F3T may help a lot.

EDIT Sorry, didn't see that you split up TES and PCS

Overall I would put Tuktamysheva in 5th. She still has weak spins and non existent choreo. Triple axel or not
