Are the Ladies the only interest in figure skating?

What about Johnny, Evan, Jeffrey, E-man, Abbott, Carriere, Mabee? Not to mention Daisuke, Nobunari, Plushenko, Joubert, Lambiel?

Any news of the above?

Joe

What about Pairs and Dance?

Any news about Shen/Zhao, Siudeks, Kawaguchi/Smirnov, Pang/Tong, Sawczenko/Solkovy, Zhang/Zhang...?
What about Delobel/Shoenfelder, Domnina/Shabalin, Denkova/Staviyski, Virtue/Moir, Belbin/Agosto, Dubrouil/Lauzon...?

We (my fault too) are talking too much about Ladies, IMO.

What about boys? They're men, not boys

Johnny's on tour. Tomorrow will skate in a show in Delaware. Midsummer he'll go to Russia to work on his choreo for the coming season. Hopefully, he's liberated from that fake masculinity forever, and will be 100% old self.

What else.... In exactly 2 months he will turn 23. I believe he said smth about walking for Heatherette in September.

Speaking only for myself, I don't comment on men's skating any more because it is too contentious. Don't mention the names of Lysacek, Weir, Lambiel or Joubert unless you want to be called an idiot or a scoundrel, LOL.

Too right with that statement!!

I prefer the boys, ooops, the MEN. It's more like a sport for me. There are a few men who can take that sport to another level and I think they are the best.

The Ladies, are more like seeing too many swan lakes, everything is familiar; there are no surprises, close to being a pagaent.

Thanks Husuhs for info on Johnny. He is still with us and he will not let anyone kick him off the podium. Abbott, Carriere, Lysacek pushing Johnny off the podium not to mention Bradley?

Joe

most of the 'boys' are touring on COI - and there have been a lot of reports on what they've been doing every night on this board already...

apparently Evan and Johnny's 'rivalry' is only news worthy in winter...;)

Mathman, if anyone says anything bad to you, call the same thing back to them. I value your opinions very much! I have already found that there are far more ladie's skating discussions than men's on this board. Please don't stop commenting on men's skating - my number one favorite category.

Joe, I think you have hit on figure skating's biggest problem right there. As a sport, men's figure skating is never going to be as popular in the U.S. as football, basketball, etc.

But on the women's side, we are just not as much interested in pageants as we were 40 years ago.

Idiot and scoundrel!

See, my fave to mention is Andrei Griazev....then you're just called an idiot, not the scoundrel part! :) And he's been touring with the Averbukh Stars on Ice tour, with two, "interesting" exhibition programs (one that I really really hope is a preview of a new competition program!)

Poof, there's my "boys" mention!

You guys! Come one, you know "Chicks Rule!" Get with the program.

Is Plushenko doomed? Now theres a guy who can get 72 pages of comments.
But you are all correct. The girlie sport wins out in Forums. Red blooded Americans boys are busy with the Sports pages, and not all that interested in costumes and divorces.

Joe

I  watching the men most of all, Olympic eligilbe and pro! I'm just not in a position to identify all of their technical moves - help! So please, keep those discussions of the men coming!
