2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

1. Alexandra Trusova (Russia) - 160.53
2. Alina Zagitova (Russia) - 154.41
3. Rika Kihira (Japan) - 144.76
4. Satoko Miyahara (Japan) - 134.94
5. Brady Tennell (USA) - 124.91
6. Mirai Nagasu (USA) - 111.04

And so what is Japan Open? Alina is scored based on her reputation of OGM and dont forget that she has plenty of endorsements from Japan.
I am happy that Sasha won deservedly, although the judges underdscored her.
Why is this huge difference between she and Zagitova in PCS? more than 10 points? What is Zagitova doing so special, taking into the consideration that Sasha has better skating skills?

I don't think I can give you any reason you'd understand. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you the one who talked about Alina "liking too many boys" because of her Instagram likes in her fanfest in the past and alluded to her wanting to be like Kabaeva not because of the success but for the rumour she's known for? No logical discussion to be had with that. I think your reasons go far beyond figure skating scoring.

more than 10 points difference for Trusova and Zagitova, what a joke they want to make Zagitova PCS Kostner like.
I suppose that is the only way for her to win and underscoring Trusova in PCS.

I don’t see the point of getting that worked up about Sasha’s PCS. They only gave hometown favorite Rika 67 and as a Sasha fan I am happy to admit that though she is fast with good skating skills, her overall presentation and carriage are not near Rika’s level yet. Besides it always takes the better part of a season of consistently winning before PCS is adjusted upwards for new seniors.

I don't understand the scoring at all. 63 PCS is a freaking joke.

I think her TES is a bigger joke. I do acknowledge that I haven't seen the whole skate yet, but from the looks of it she didn't fall. I have a hard time understanding why it's the same as what she got at Nepala with such a huge increase in BV.

You should try to answer to my question: why is the gap in PCS between Zagitova and Trusova more than points? But probably you dont have arguments for that.
Anyway, I am just happy that Sasha won, despite everything.
And I have faith that she, Anna and Alena will get the scores they deserved by the end of the season.

Will there be any proper protocol?

Yes but only after the official stream.

Also, 62.5 PCS for Sasha looks weird unless she made multiple mistakes that disrupted her skate. She is not the most artistic skater out there, but she'd get ~64 even in her junior years.

It doesnt seem she fell... She is just amazing. But judges underscored her, because they want Zagitova to win. Look at Zagitova winning with a mediocre tech content and PCS +75

That "mediocre" tech content is still the highest in seniors after Sasha, Rika and Anna, if we speak about the BV, with the GOE Alina still can be the highest pretty often. But this comment I'm responding to is not about the ranking ladies by the tech content of their programs I think... :handw:

We've already had this discussion before. But it was clear with your comments that there is no discussion to be had per the ridiculousness of your past comments. Refer to above.

I don't know TBH, but when I saw the 160.x total I was like whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Is this a joke?

It seems like for her to win against Alina and Rika (considered the biggest threat to her right now) she needs to be squeaky clean with 4 quads... I mean, that's the biggest joke ever to me. I don't think she'll enjoy the PCS rising perk that Evgenia, Alina and Rika got.

I hope she does. I mean I think she's quite a bit behind the top in PCS (although I guess it only PE really), but not THAT much behind, especially since PCS and followed TES in the past. I actually think she has quite good SS and musicality as well, contrary to what others believe. It's crazy she did 4 quads and only scored 6 points above someone who did none (and I absolutely love Alina more). I know everyone argues about PCS but her strength is TES and it doesn't seem to be given enough credit. I also think she was way underscored - not for the reasons that others think - but again I haven't seen the full program.

63 PCS isn't all that surprising if they want to hold her down, but the TES is really shocking. I can't find the protocols, but didn't she get higher at Nepela for "only" 3 quads and a popped combo? How did she get lower for 4 quads and a clean program?

Twitter is saying there were no falls. The only mistake was a step out on her second 4T, which she improvised into a Eu-3S. Even if that was underrotated or whatever, I can't imagine her score being that low.

seems they credited Trusova with her three quads, she made another record landing 3 different quads the first lady senior or junior.
4S, 4Lz, 4T, wasnt she training the 4F last year ?

I love how Sasha just landed four quads and the reaction is "What about five?"

Soon enough Sasha will jump 10 quads in her program and we will say "lol typical Sasha I guess!"

All Sasha’s quads are available to watch on Nathan’s Instagram stories, bless his heart. I can tell you she definitely did not get anywhere near the GOE on them that she got af Nepala. 4S had an awkward foot down on landing, 4T had a really forward landing before 3T, and second 4T was poorly landed, she spun around on her landing blade before going up for the 3S. We’ll see what the rest of the jumps look like, but definitely not her cleanest effort. 4Lz was a thing of beauty though.

63 in PCS seems to be very low for Sasha. If we notice that Anna had only 65 in Lombardia, it looks like the judges are not willing to raise their PCS score. I hope this is just temporal, it would be quite frustrating if not. On the other hand, it would be nice if Sasha would break through some new barriers (like 100 in TES and let's say 170 in total) in an official ISU competition, like in the upcoming GP.
