2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Well, if you think that judges are unfair then if you are silent nothing will change. Judges continue to be unfair.
And Alyona will have "more attention", it's unavoidable (I hope at least), such skater always attract attention.

Alina's behavior is an ideal example of how to behave in such situations.

“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!” @Rocky Balboa

She's very graceful

So was Alyona, I don't understand what she has supposedly said that could be otherwise.

She even said she would work on increasing her score, obviously she was disappointed but that's natural.

I saw it as flat to slight turning towards inside on take off, deserving of ! but that e was harsh.

Still, there is no need to accuse anyone of something worthy of being investigated, that is harsh itself.
We are all human you know, nobody is flawless

But of course he SHOULD be investigated. Chinese judges were investigated for their "small mistakes". Does he have some kind of immunity?
Please note I don't say he should be stripped of his licence or smth like that. If investigation shows it was unintended mistake he will keep his licence then

Can you not drag other skaters into it, please?

Thankyou I know Zhenya flutzes, do not need it to be pointed out every opportunity.

Nobody mentioned Pogo, Osmond or Gold either. None of which are even skating at a GP this season!!!

The debate is Alina's lutz.

I was not dragging anybody. I was pointing examples of skaters who have true textbook wrong edges on their jumps.

No. This is a quote from the TP handbook.
"The quarter/half mark of landing are the border lines to identify cheated jumps.
The camera angle is important to consider when deciding upon a cheated jump
particularly when the jump is at the opposite end of the rink than the camera.
In all doubtful cases the Technical Panel should act to the benefit of the skater"

I take this to mean that 15min is cheated but anything less than that isnt. The change from last year was that then 15min wasnt considered ur but anything over where but now they are a bit more strict saying 15minis ur. 10min still shouldnt be ur

Hmmmm, it was my understanding that the tech panel could call anything UR if it was snot fully rotated, with no 15 minutes or less of forgiveness. I remember that rule went into effect last season...but you’re right about what the handbook says, so I guess I don’t know how they may have changed the rule since last season. Hmmmmm....

Well, personally I didn't think Aliona's 3A was UR either but it had a rough landing, so maybe that was enough for them to call it? I don't necessarily agree with the judging today and found it quite off to be honest but these conspiracy theories are also really tiresome, imo.

What a reaction to my post has to do with cospiracy theories? :scratch2::biggrin:

I dont think anyone needs to be investigated at all.

Zagitova and Kostornaya can actually land lutzes unlike say Medvedeva who cannot even go flat on that jump. An e call is very harsh when she's at most flat on that jump. Osmond's lutz, Pogorilaya and Gold and their flips those are textbook definition of e's.

Love how you constantly drag Evgenia into discussions that have nothing to do with her.

Completely unnecessary to point it out.

Zhenya wasn't competing in France

Gold is only skating domestically trying to make Nationals for the first time since 2017

Osmond and Pogo are not even competing at all!

We have this saying „дежурен кривец“ which basically translates to "offender on duty", and it seems that Evgenia is it here. ;)

This is not the best skating.
The judges were strict, but the girls were not at one hundred percent. Alena was very nervous, she skated like a robot. The world record is not for her today. I'm sure She understands that. Alina should be more attentive. We all know how they can present their programs. It's just not a good day. Tomorrow will be better.

Why not? If he is innocent it won't harm him. And next time he will pay more attention to what is going on on the ice.

Throwing accusations at someone is harmful, even if found innocent. It can have a negative impact on someone's reputation, forever tainted by that accusation. I think you are being way over dramatic about this.

The tech panel by the way consisted of three people, not just him.

I totally agree that the tech pannel should be investigated.

While URs may be debatable or even clear, the lutz edge is call is clearly out of line.

:reye:

and for the post in general: :rolleye: :disagree:

Dude, check out skatingscores and tell us how many e and ! calls Alina got on her Lutz so far.

I think the rule was changed last year. The tech panel should not give a < unless the jump is more than 90 degrees short. However, each individual judge can give negative GOE if he/she feels that the junmp was short, even if the technical panel does not make a call.

(Aside: 90 degrees is 5400 minutes of arc. ;) )

"I can not say that with this triple Axel, we are absolutely friends. That's what I'll say if I jump it like a triple flip.

Maybe three years from now, when I don't care if I see him at three o'clock in the morning or at a show or a show. But so far there is no such thing, " Kostornaya said.
