Rusfed probably obligated Zhenya to skate yesterday, and they’re probably doing the same today. I doubt Brian and Zhenya would have wanted to skate in those conditions. They’re probably like “you can either skate, or you’re out, for good”.
They’re being totally political, and probably want her to have a bad skate to justify not giving her a chance later. And TAT’s power seems to not work that much anymore. I think Rusfed is giving its back to Evgenia. It’s like they’re saying “you can have a little bit of support, or no support at all”, what do you choose.

( Really unfortunate situation, almost brand new boots break before one of the most important competitions. Not a good PR for Edea for sure. But seeing how Zhenya performed at training (she could barely complete a triple and also fell from spin), she probably made the right decision. There is a very small chance to sneak onto the podium and the ladies' team is almost decided. Maybe Evgenia could be given another chance to qualify if one of the ladies performs worse at Euros?
