I had to screen record my laptop and run out of the room because I couldn't watch it live - having watched the replay and finally stopped crying...

i'm kind of slumped on my couch letting out intermittent squeals

pain? what pain? my ankle doesn't hurt at all. how could it, after that?
 
I also feel the need to highlight this quote from Johnny Weir after Jason finished his programme.

"The way he skates, is so difficult, it's not a quad, but those edges, the details on the spins, the musicality, all of that stuff is just as hard to learn and feel as a quad lutz is. Just brilliant."
 
Jason brought the house down! The standout performance by far and away. No disrespect to others, but many can do quads, but how many can skate like Jason? :love:
 
That is how it's done. Being in the arena was incredible. I had my new best friends in my section up on their feet before he ended with me. Still a little overwhelmed with happiness.

Okay, I missed that quote live because I was too busy swearing at him for bringing up the quad literally right after Jason finished.

Yeah he prefaced it with "He doesn't have a quad BUT the way he skates is so difficult" etc... I actually thought Johnny was really supportive in his comments tonight re jason. I may listen to the commentary again and make some notes of what him and Tara say throughout his SP!

I just tuned in and it sounds like Jason sort of skated ok and it's safe for me to watch the replay. Yes? The above reminded me of something Charlie said on the Ladies broadcast last night. I think it was during the Ladies warm up for maybe the last group? . Anyway he was talking components and mentioned Jason, and was just starting to talk about how good Jason and his components were when Tanith interrupted him and said, "...before you go down that path..." and ended up talking about Carolina and what she does well. It seemed somewhat of a cut-off to me and I thought it was a little odd, like, were they maybe not supposed to talk about men during the Ladies event, or not supposed to prop Jason. I know I was probably putting too much into it, but I couldn't help wonder at the time. At any rate, Charlie seems to be a fan of his skating.

Off to check the standings and read the competition threads before Pairs. Happy viewing!

I just rewatched it and started crying again when he hugged the flower girl.
 
Just watched the replay. Twice. :yahoo: It sure appears that his sessions with Rohene in Illinois a couple of weeks ago were very worthwhile.

I was on Gold and heard Tanith and Charlie paying him homage. So glad to hear that Tara and Johnny did as well! He deserves it! Beautiful skate!
