2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Aliona is my favorite skater, but I left her off the list because although her technique has improved greatly, it’s still not as “textbook” as the skaters I mentioned + Rika. Her toe pick, pre rotation, lutz edge and leg wrap are a lot better compared to last season, but now her flip edge is too shallow for some (and her lutz also isn’t deep enough for some). Hopefully she will continue improving it though! I think she can. Her technique is still better than many skaters even though it’s not perfectly textbook.
Alyona is perfectly OK - her prerotation is about 90 degrees on the toe jumps I think, not 220. Also, except for Tuktamysheva the others do not have perfect technique either, but a very good one.
And I return my words back about Sasha Cohen - she used to prerotate more than 90 degrees. So, no this is not new technique, just a bad one.
Michelle Kwan also prerotated and did not use the toe pick properly.
Honestly I think Yuna, Carolina, Liza T, Alexia P and Tomoe K should have received plus 10 GOE!!!
EDIT HERE: The same time that Kwan and Cohen prerotated, Carolina had amazing toe assisted jumps with minimal prerotation! Poor Carolina! You are too amazing, you deserve more!!!
You too, Liza, deserve more!!!

It isn't judged on and that's just the way it is, but ISU shows how jumps should be completed. Just because other methods are accepted doesn't mean there isn't a perfect/textbook technique. Imperfect technique existed before Eteri and was always common so that's why it isn't something I get upset about, but I will always have respect and admiration for skaters that complete elements as shown in ISU videos.

Agree. I am not watching Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen anymore, even though they did not prerotate as much as... you know who...
And I get why Caro had big scores even when she messed up her skates.

I'm sorry I'm not thinking about any who or you know who, just a general point. :)

Indeed, Summer Sunny Skaters.

Seems Tutberidze’s Awesome And Amazing Aces landed another high class and premium profile endorsement.

Here is the article: https://www.tatler.ru/heroes/h-prichin-po-kotorym-vam-srochno-nuzhen-martovskij-nomer-tatler

No doubt the full article and photos will be available on the official, verified social media account and VK of #TeamTutberidzeForProgress and the featured skaters pretty soon.

The skaters have their family holidays quite early, in May, so some of that beach- and loungewear may come in handy.

It can be translated as well as "ups and downs"

I can read russian at least on the level on which I am able to translate it for myself. I'm just saying that some people try something and may have downs, while others are just whining about what they "don't like" particular skaters for days sitting on their back.

I think we need a poll to find out how much GOE Anna should lose for edge which is between outside and flat. I have feeling that penalizing her like it was a fall is going to win.

Regarding to under rotation, Anna almost always gets on the wrong side of every close call, it has already cost her and European tittle, So I don't know what people don't like tbh.

Ahaha. Not true.
And what is achieved unfairly does not count at all in my eyes.

Nevskiy Sport’s take on Konstantinova : https://nevasport.ru/125683-kuda-podatsya-konstantinovoj-varianty-v-moskve-i-peterburge/

Citing the problems are psychological.

Alyona Leonova more or less said the same when questioned on the matter.

Doesn’t make Stanislava chances to find a suitable training environment better, I’d think.
Plus, the usual complications about money and living away from home apply.

Anyway, Konstantinova has been accepted into Volkov’s group at Plyushchenko’s Academy.

Perhaps already in Russian Cup, but there remains some bureaucracy to administer.

Plyushchenko’s Angels has a branch in Sankt Peterburg, but that probably offers exclusive recreational skating for kids from wealthy parents.
