2019-20 Russian Men's figure skating

Still my heart! Mozalev managed to keep up. He is really close to Kagiyama, which is as much as he can hope for, given how they were scored in Oly. I haven’t had the chance to see the short, but it looks like Gummenik didn’t have the best outing...hopefully he recovers in the free. Can’t wait to see Yablokov and the expat team as well. Anyway, all the luck in the world for the free.

The quality of the competition was high with the top 10-12. Mozalev did his best, perfectly clean program with Kagiyama overcoming him just with slightly higher GOE and components. One mistake in the free can decide everything.

Gumennik landed his 3A badly, but managed it without a fall. The rest of his program was good. Yablokov did very well, just received relatively low components score.

Daniil was missed there but that belongs to the sport.

The free is where it will get interesting. I don’t think all is lost for anyone after the SP tbh. The results are pretty tightly clustered in the top ten... I really can’t wait to watch the whole thing.

If you remember the last year's junior worlds... Well, literally anything can happen.

Vaguely—it was the first time I was watching juniors. This year I actually remember most of the skaters, heh.

I meant that last year at WJC the top 12 men all had nearly superb SP and the FS was a complete disaster for all of them apart from the two who finished first and second at the end.

and my baby who got 3rd :dev2:

junior men are even more unpredictable than seniors, but one thing is sure Mozalev is consistent, so i wouldn't be worried about him.

I wish him all the best, though his results in the FP are oscilating from 139 to 179 this season. However, through the season his results we becoming better and better, so I hope this time he will confirm that trend.

I knock on wood. Make it a forest. I want that cake I promised my long suffering family if he medals.

sad because my son Petr is not in a good position. It’s strange because he was in such good shape. It was in his head tho, nerves, he said. Aghhh, I thought he had the old triple axel sorted. Oh well, FS is a new day, I hope he will know now not to overthink things...

Well, so much for watching some obscure music copyrights blocks stream for Canada. Argh.

he already did twice in pretty much the same field against pretty much the same opponents. i hope you can bake  that said i know he could mess up entirely in the free, but his chances are still good.

Even if he doesn’t medal, I just saw his short... since all I get from men competition is three winners... and I think he did amazing this season, particularly with spotlight on Samsonov with Samsonov’s undeniable talent and Kagiyama pretty much no longer belonging in juniors. I like this kid. And I like that his coach gives hugs, lol. Heart-melt!

Did my eyes fooled me, or has Petr grown a liittle even after Junior Nationals?

I’d love to see it, I truly do... as well as other like 30 skaters *bangs head on the wall* copyright.

I've been waiting for his growth spurt for like 3 years, but please no during the season....

Oh, gosh, that’s crazy. I knew he gained a lot of height since last year, but didn’t realize how much.

Petr has grown a LOT over the past year as you can see here

That he still manages to skate as well as he did this season with this massive growth spurt is astonishing.

Apart from that, he was battling with injuries at least in the first half of this season. Looks like it's no longer an issue now, but the growth doesn't seem to slow down as the load usually increases towards the end of season.

I just really want him to do well this time because 1) I always feel that WJC is like the final exam for the Russian skaters that reach there; 2) I'm still a little bummed about his previous WJC a year ago. Back to my praying circle...
